Mr. Horton, fprmer assistant superintendent of the training school, charged that he was fired because he had been particlpat ing in a union movement. He declared that union members now at the school were afraid to appear at the convention and still hold, their jobs. . , Delegates In session at the annual convention held at Lo gan, recommended removal of the welfare commission. The training school and welfare com mission resolutions passed with out dissent after Mr. Horton's speech. Anterless Deer Season Set By Game Officials Areas have been designated by the state board of big game control con-trol for hunting of antlerless deer during the fall season. Three hundred permits each for the Ttmpanogos-Alplne and Timp-anogos-Orem will be Issued. Applications for special per mits for these two areas will be received at the courthouse in Provo between 9 a", m. August 22 and 5 p. m. September 2, or postmarked post-marked not later than mid-night, Sept. 2. If sufficient applications -are not received by the Sept. 2 date to fully subscribe a unit, permits will be mailed for all applications received at that date and the remaining re-maining permits will be placed on open sale. If more applications applica-tions are received than-the designated desig-nated allotment, a public drawing draw-ing will be held at the courthouse at 9 a. m. on Sept. 7. The special hunt dates for these two areas have been set for November 26 to December 5. The Timpanog-cs-Alpine area is described des-cribed as "all the drainages into Utah county from the east between be-tween and including Grove Canyon Can-yon on the south and the Utah-Salt Utah-Salt Lake county line on the north. The Timpanogos-Orem area Is described as: "AH of the drainages drain-ages off Mt. Joseph W. Smith Family Meet In Reunion Descendants of Joseph W.! Smith, pioneer settler of Pleasant Grove, met In a family reunion at Canyon Glen, Provo canyon, Saturday evening for the first time since before the war. At six o'clock a picnic supper was served with a program and business meeting following in the amphitheatre. Those from American Fork appearing ap-pearing on the program were Miss May and Wanda Larson, who accompanied by Miss Phyllis- Larson, sang a duet; Carol Richards who gave a reading, Shirley Richards, who Accompanied Accom-panied by her her sister Donna, played a violin solo. Pat Hlllman and Mary Atwood, Pleasant Grove, and Ted Broadhead. Pro- lvo. also took part. Gifts were presented to Mrs. Hattie Rich ards and Mrs. Jenette Humphries, the oldest members of the family.
