Pullejt. American lark's oldest citizen, celebrates the Anniversary of his 90th birth day. July 10th. Mr. Pulley will be honored by his Immediate family at his home Wednesday, July 10, which includes three sons, Adolphus, John and Francis, six daughters, Florence Peterson, Ruth Hansen, Prise 111a Murdock, Laura Larson, Esther Shelton and Mary; also 35 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. He was born at Norths Alton, Madison County, Illinois, July 10, 1856, the son of William and Sarah Morris Pulley. In 1878 he with his faily moved to Utah and settled In American Fork, pur chasing an eighty-lour acre tract of land covered with sage brush and has since transformed the undeveloped tract Into lovely garden spot, through his close application, unremitting industry and persistency. Mr. Pulley has been engaged in Farming until his deciinini years, which have been devoted to gardening and landscaping, His life has been less active the past year, which time he has spent reading many hours a day with out the aid of glasses. He contributes his long life to living in accordance with the laws of Nature, leading an active out door life, going to bed early, and rising early, and living on vegetable and fruit diet. In 1889 he married Emma Louise Smith who passed away June 19, 1928. Three generations will be honored hon-ored on this day his son, Francis, and a grandson, James Peterson, whose birthdays fall on the same day, July 10. The day will be spent on the spaciou and beautiful grounds surrounding the Pulley home. Quietly Mr. Pulley and his family fam-ily will reminisce, and renew family associations. At 5 o'clock in the afternoon a turkey dinner! will be served in the Patio, the centerpiece will be a three-tiered birthday cake, bearing ninety candles. Looking back over ninety years of life, Mr. Pulley has witnessed many changes. Being among the first pioneers of this community, he has lndeavored to do his share In developing his farm and making mak-ing American Fork an attractive place in which to live.
