Hospital Notes Mr. William Roberts Is Improving slowly, after a major operation. Mrs. Norman Wing Jr. is improving improv-ing slowly, after an operation for ruptured appendix. Robert Wagstaff Is receiving medical med-ical care at the hospital. June Batchelor of Salt Lake City Is receiving treatment for head injuries in-juries received when a shotgun accidentally ac-cidentally discharged. The accident occurred while Mr. Batchelor was duck hunting, the gun being fired at a distance of about thirty yards from -Mr- Batchelor. some of the shot striking him in the head. Mr. John Pace of Frultland is receiving re-ceiving medical treatment at the hospital. Frank Dowdle Is still a patient at the hospital. Mrs. John Wright of American Fork Is Improving at the hospital after a serious illness. Fourth North street, from first West to Third West, was designated as a coasting lane, by the city council coun-cil Monday night. In honor of Mrs. Harold Pratt, the former Frankle Alexander of Provo, a shower was given by friends of the bride's mother, at the Hedqulst home in Provo, Monday night. Forty -five ladles attended. An entertaining enter-taining program was presented, and a delicious luncheon was served. The bride received many beautiful gifts. Attending from American Fork were Mrs. Irving L. Games were played, after which refreshments were served. Fourteen girls and their two teachers, Mrs. Ralph Ellison Elli-son and Mrs. Junior Miller, were present. Miss Eva Smith of American Fork, an outstanding student In activities at the L. D. 8. Business College, has been selected as a member of the staff of the Gold and Blue, the school paper. Miss Smith Is the news editor, and Is reported to making mak-ing a success of the paper so far as the news part Is concerned. Positions Posi-tions on the paper have been filed by students who show an Interest in this type of work as well as for their scholarship. Miss Jose ph lne Draper of American Fork became the bride of Mr. Edward L. Miller of Salt Lake City', formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, at an impressive ceremony Wednes- day, November 20, at 10 o'clock, at' the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Terry P. Draper of American Fork. The bride was lovely in a long white brocaded satin gown and fin- I ger tip veil of white lace and tulle : with a pearl crown. She carried a I bride's bouquet of pink rosebuds.1 Her only attendant was her sister, j fkfiss Mel Da Draper, who wore a princess model of orchid taffeta with pink accessories and a pink I rosebud corsage. Mr. Arthur Buhs of 703 East First South. Salt Lake City, was best man. To the strains of Lohengrin's bridal march the bride entered the living room, which was decorated with baskets of white and pink chrysanthemums. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Bishop T. A. Greenwood performed the ceremony in the presence of the Immediate family. The bride's mother wore a long black velvet gown with a turquoise Jacket and a corsage of white chrysanthemums. chry-santhemums. A wedding breakfast Immediately followed the ceremony. The table was set wltti a Quaker lace cloth, the centerpiece being a sliver bowl of pink and white chrysanthemums. Miniature brides and bridegrooms marked the Individual places. The same evening a wedding reception re-ception was in honor of the couple at Flrmage hall. During the evening Mr. Clarence A. Grant was master of ceremonies. Entertainers were Owen Nelson and Norma Bowen, who tap danced; Vivian Seastrand and Merlin Gardner, who each gave readings; and Milton Brown, who played a violin selection. Her condition con-dition is reported as good. Mrs. Rita Crease of Pleasant Grove is improving after an appendix appen-dix operation. June Thompson Is improving slow ly from Injuries received in an auto- i mobile accident. She was brought to the American Fork hospital from the Utah Valley hospital at Provo.
