Smith, zone chairman, and Dr. G. Y. Anderson, attended a meeting 01 presidents and secretaries of clubs from Castle Dale and Moab, held Friday evening, in CasUe Dale. Mr. Smith reported that the Pleasant Grove representatives returned re-turned with worthwhile Ideas for improving the local club and for selecting community projects, civic beautilication being one of those suggested. o Mothers' Group Holds Meeting Regular meetings of the W. P. A. play school mother's club will be held the first Wednesday In every month at 3:30 p. m. In the Central school building, it was decided in a meeting held Wednesday afternoon Publicity committee chairman, Beulah Bradley, announced that to encourage all the mothers to attend meetings, mothers who do not send a written excuse to President May- metta Johnson, will be fined a small amount. This money will be used to buy equipment for the school. A interesting course of study Is being planned for these meetings, and school problems will also be dls cussed. After the meeting Wednesday, the officers, President Johnson, Amanda Wadley, vice president, and Beth Penton, secretary, served refresh ments. FIRST WARD SERVICES Priests of the First ward will par ticipate in the program at the sacrai ment services Sunday evening. El' vin Thorne of the bishopric has the meeting in charge. Harold S. Walker, a member of the Tlmpanogos stake Aaronlc priest hood committee, and Otto Kennedy, advisor for the First ward priests, will be the speakers. The boat was not loaded with soldiers in mail, with explorers or priests but with Andalusian cattle. The shipper was Gregorio de Villalobos. Little is known about Villalobos or his ship, but this cargo started the cattle business in this country, for the cattle increased and spread over into what is now territory of the United States. Pleasant Grove Has Outstanding Exhibit At Fair Pleasant Grove's unusual com munity exhibit in which the town was featured as the heart of a thriving agricultural section, excited ex-cited much interest and favorable comment at the Utah county fair held at Provo September 5, 6. 7. The display had for its back ground a large pictorial map illu strating the agricultural, industrial and cultural advantages of Pleasant Grove. Portrayed on the map were Mount Tlmpanogos, the "G" moun tain, the canning center, the civic building, the commercial dairy, the railroads, the pipe plant, the orch ards, and diversified farms, the dairy barns', the main street with its home -owned stores, the church es, represented by the Tlmpanogos stake tabernacle; and a beautiful home typifying the community as one of fire homes. Statistics giving proof of the advantages ad-vantages portrayed, accompanied the map. In the foreground, the design, "the heart of the agricultural section" sec-tion" was worked out in fruits and vegetables. General chairman, Mrs. Lurena E. Warnick, designed and managed the exhibit, under the direction of the Pleasant Grove chamber of commerce. She was assisted by Joan Adams, who painted the map; S. A. Kirk, who compiled the statistics; sta-tistics; Mr. and Mrs. George Paul. In charge of gathering fruits and vegetables; Jewell Paul, Ruth Hoo-ley, Hoo-ley, and Irene Warnick, who helped arrange the display. Those who contributed fruits and vegetables for vthe design were: apples, Fred Scholes; peaches, Stena Chrtetensen; pears, Clarence Ras-mussen; Ras-mussen; plums and prunes, Nyal Wadley; grapes, Clarence Wright; potatoes, onions, and carrots, Burton Bur-ton H. Adams; beets, summer squash, and yellow beans, Merrill N. Warnick; melons, green beans trid cucumbers, George Harris; tomatoes, to-matoes, Arnold Hooley; canned fruit, Mrs. Merrill Warnick and Manila 4-H clubs; canned goods. Pleasant Grove cannery.
