Richard Wootton, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Tracy Wootton of Salt Lake City, has been elected editor of the Utah Chronicle, University of Utah newspaper, for the coming year, it Is reported by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Chlpman. Reading of three one-act plays by Mrs. Helen Dixon of Provo featured a meeting of the Junior Literary league Monday at the home of Mrs. Merle Stewart. Mrs. Helen Ramsay was assisting hostess. S. temple. President Stephen L. Chipman performed per-formed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Pulley left Tuesday on an extended trio. Thev will motor to California and tour up the Pacific Coast through the Northwest, North-west, on a two weeks' trip. A reception in their honor was given by Mrs. Ruth P. Hansen and Miss Mary Pulley at the Andrpw Pulley home Monday night. Sixty members of the Immediate families attended. The rooms were decorated with apple blossoms. A novel wedding cake centered the table, and the table was set with pink glassware and dishes to create a charming effect. ef-fect. The Harrington school won first place In the American Dental poster contest, held in Salt Lake City May 6. Jack Jones, son of Harold Jones of American Fork, won first place for the elementary grades In the state. Provo won first place for senior high schools, and Ogden for junior high. Jack's winning poster will enter the national contest to take place at the American Dental association convention in St. Louis next October. Jack is a member of Miss Miller's art class. o Hospital Notes Mrs. Lynn Walker of Pleasant j Grove is reported to be doing well at me nospiuu, wnere sne underwent an operation for the removal of her appendix recently. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pettlt of Pleasant Grove are the parents of a baby girl, born at the hospital May 1. Mother and baby will be released this week.. Mrs. Harold Pine of Orem received medical attention at the hospital. Mrs. Torval Larsen underwent an operation at the hospital Monday. He condition Is reported as good. Mrs. Myron Jense of Pleasant Grove and new son born May 5 are reported to be doing well at the hospital. Mrs. Jesse Crookston received medical attention at the hospital for three flaysT-"" - Floyd Myers, stricken with an attack at-tack of appendicitis at Rawlins, Wyoming, underwent an operation here May 6. His condition is good. Mrs. Ronald Faddls underwent a minor operation Monday, and Is doing well.
