Misses Leone and Madge Yancey spent last Saturday in Bait Lake, on pleasure. Mist Helen Bird had her tonsils removed this week, and is recovering from the operation nicely. Mr. and Mrs.' David Warnlck are moving into an apartment in the Mrs. Annie Greene home. Mr. and Mrs. 8. T. Shelley and son Paul spent last Sunday afternoon In Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. James Baldwin. Mrs. Ralph Roberts and children, who have spent the summer at the herd with Mr. Roberts, have returned return-ed to their home here. Ira Nelson and son Barr of Iona, Idaho, spent last week-end and the first of this week here visiting with MrJNelson's , JatherNlela.NeJaon. and daughter Sadie. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ooode and family have moved from the former A. W. Buckwalter home in the First ward into the Hlndley apartments. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Tracy and family fam-ily have moved to American Fork from Kaysvllle. They have apart ments In the Green Row. Mrs. Tract Tra-ct formerly was Miss Euen Jacklin. The many friends of John Pulley will be glad to learn he is on the Improve In the local hospital, Mr. Pulley last week underwent an operation op-eration for a ruptured appendix and his condition was very serious for several days. The hospital reports he is now somewhat improved. Mrs. Jessie Wilson and daughter IsabeUe visited In American Fork for several days enroute to Richmond. Rich-mond. California, from Pittsburg, Pa. They were the guest while here of Mra Wilson's cousin, Mrs. Agnes Adamson and her daughter, Phyllis. Mrs. Mary Whlthy and son Ralph, leave tonight for Leadrllle. Colorado, to remain. Mra, Whlthy was born tn that place and her relatives reside re-side there. They have been residents resi-dents of this dty for the past several years and have made a number num-ber of friends while here who wish them well in their new home. Two fal!s this week were unlucky V two local lads and as a consequence conse-quence they are carrying an arm apiece in a allng. The young son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles La Fleur fell from on top the house and a young son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hunter fell from a horse. The Hunter chap broke the other arm two years ago In a similar accident. Both breaks were rather bad ones. Wayne Chad wick son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Chad wick, and Veloy Vest, son of Hyrum Vest left last Saturday Satur-day morning lor New York where they will enter Columbia University. Both are graduates of the B. Y. U. Mr. Chad wick will continue his studies in the line of special salesmanship sales-manship and Mr. Vest win continue his musical work. They will visit the World's Fair In Chicago enroute. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Storr are returning re-turning to Los Angeles soon after spending the past several months In American Fork and other Utah cities with relatives and friends.- Miss Miriam Homer left Sunday for ML Pleasant where she will resume re-sume her studies in the Wasatch Academy. Miss Homer has spent the past summer here with her fath er, Dr. W, A. Homer. -Miss Edrlfr-Jartta has returned home from a five weeks' visit in Kingston, with her sister, Mrs. C. L. Jesson. On August 11th a baby girl arrived at the Jesson home, and Miss Jacklin has been assisting her sister in the home. Patriarch and Mrs. Warren B. Smith have returned from a visit In Farmington with their daughter Mra. Orant Clark and family. Mrs. Smith also recently has enjoyed a - two weeks' visit In Idaho with two sons and two daughters. Mrs. John H. Miller has been confined to her home for the. past several weeks suffering from phlebitis phlebi-tis in the left limb. She has been in considerable pain but is now on the Improve and will be able to be about on cr..t".ea in a short time. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peterson of San Francisco, and Miss Anna Peterson of LehL who recently returned from a visit to the Coast dty, were entertained enter-tained at dinner Monday--evening here by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chip- man. Relatives here have received word concerning the condition of Abe Ghadwlck, who is seriously ill at his home In Oakland, California, that he is slightly better but dan gerously in yet. He Is suffering from heart trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bennett ' and daughter, Miss Vera Bennett, left Wednesday morning on a trip through Southern Utah. They wd first visit Bryce's canyon and then return to Beaver where they will be guest for several days of Mra. Bennett's sisters, Mrs. Jane Mun-ford, Mun-ford, Mrs. May White and Mrs. Carrie Bakes. Mrs. A. W. Johnson and -family have returned home after spending the past summer in American Pork canyon. Mr. Johnson Is st the C. C. C. camp F-ft. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson and small son left Wednesday for their home to New Mexico. Mrs. Peterson and son have spent r the past summer sum-mer here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bate. Kenneth Robinson returned Wed nesday after spending six weeks in Chicago with relatives of his moth er, Mrs. M. C. Robinson. Kenneth had the time of his life while there, attending the World's Fair and many points of Interest in and about Chicago. K. J. Bird, director of the Seven ties chorus of the stake, is the proud possessor of a beautiful baton, the handwork of Axel Bloomquist, a member of the chorus. The baton handle is made of Uny pieces of fit ted wood which came from Europe, Africa, Asia and America, and the tip Is of ivory, hand carved. The Instrument is a piece of exquisite workmanship and one Mr. Bird will prize highly. The baton was presented pre-sented to him at a recent rehearsal of the chorus, bespeaking the good will and appreciation of the members. mem-bers. A novel feature of entertainment was the "fortune telling" with Mrs. Emma Bennett as the seer revealing all good things for the future for the honored guests. Refreshments were served to the fifty present. The hostesses were twenty members mem-bers whose names were drawn from the Relief Society roll.
