Pratt and Assist; n chief Glen Chadwlck . represent"; American Korkjp flr department ; a meeting called for heads ot fr'-; departments of the county held ' Provo Monday afternoon. Incidents 'his was the first business meeti:. held with the' county oomjnlaslont . in the new connty courthouse. The commissioners called ihi meeting for the purpose of flndin; the best plan to solve the problem of county fire protection for those out - ? Hale of corporate tity limits. Whother it would be better for th-county th-county to pay the various city appa-atuses appa-atuses whenever they are called in' duty outside of their respective cm limits or to buy and maintain count v nre fighting trucks and apparatu-were apparatu-were the two principal plans din. cussed at some length. - Finally it was practically decld I that the more feasible of the two plans would be for the county to buy, three trucks and apparatus, one to be stationed at the south end, one at Provo and one at the north end, pr'oh. ably American Fork. A committee comprised of Chief I. L. Tratt of this city. Chief Boshajd; of l'rovo and Chief Booth of Spani.-hj Fork was appointed to meet with the, county commission Monday, November Novem-ber 15, at 2 o'clock 'p in. and present to them farts and figures pertaining to the operation and maintenance f fire fighting equipment that the con: missioners may decide definite! v which plan is best for the county to adopt. I'nder the present system, as f : instance in the case of American Fork, the fire truck is hot allowed pass the city limit lines nor aro the firemen allowed pay for fighting fires outside of the city limits except where permission is first obtained from Uje miyor or one in charge. It can readily be seen that the county property Is not given adequate pro. tectlon from fire and some means , must of necessity be devised whereby protection can be given outside city expense.
