The First and Second Wards put over original "stunts in competition to each other. The first ward's "Barn Yard Reunion" was voted the cleverest performance. Funeral For Infant Funeral "services were held Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at the cemetery over the remains of Francis Cobbley, the nine-months-old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cobbley, who died in Salt Lake of a very contagious fornt of spinal meningitis. Joseph Richards, counselor of the DeTa ward, where the parents temporarily reside,1 was' in charge of the services. Music was furnished fur-nished by the LIndon ward choir with a solo by Mrs. May R. Walker. The speakers were D. B. Thorne and Joseph Richards. The invocation was by P. 3. Humphries and the benediction bene-diction by Lester G. West. Superintendent David Gourley re. turned Wednesday from the Superin, tendents Convention recently held in Washington D. C. He reports a very splendid and profitable trip. The Gleaner girls of the Windsor ward entertained their mothers at the home of Emma Wright, Friday eve ning. A dainty lunch was served. The evening wns spent in games and music. ' The Pleasant Grove, runners-up In the Alpine Division, won a 29 to 24 victory over Springville, Nebo runners-up, in the fiercely contested game played in the high school gym at Provo Wednesday night. Each team led tne score Dy turns, Springville leading by a score of 16 to 14 in the first half. They could not keep up the pace however and the Pleasant Grove team, by their excel lent team work and clever passing, out played their opponents. Both teamsreallzed there was a great. deal at stake and gaVe their very best for this last big chance. The gym was packed with a large representation from the Springville school, also their high school band. Pleasant Grove with their band boys in uniform, and the high school students in Jackets and caps gave a very fine demonstration demon-stration at the first half of the game. The band marched to the center of the floor after which the students clad In caps and Jackets marched around the band and several high school sonf.s were sung. One bystander said after the game "Well the root is still on the building. Really I thought-the high school yells and the cheering of the fans would raise the roof." His parents, during : most ot their lives resided in this community, their old home now being owned and oc. cupied by Mr. and Mrs. Cj A. Gamett and family. , Leland, was educated in the public schools here and also at. tended the B. Y. U. He was the son of B. W. and Alvla Pratt Drlggs. He married Annie Beers Drlggs, whose parents were also early settlers ot Pleasant Grove. Besides his widow, five daughters and two sons survive him, also the following brothers and sisters; R. W Drlggs Jr. ot Drlggs, Idaho; Don C. Drlggs, Pheonlx, Arizona; Parley S. Drlggs, Idaho; W. King Driggs, Ven ice, California; Mrs. John Z. Brown, Salt Lake; Howard R. Drlggs, Nsw York; Frank M. Funeral Services Held Sunday Sun-day For Leland Warburton Funeral services were held Sunday In the Pleasant Grove Tabernacle for Leland Warburton, 40, who died at the American,Fork Hospital Friday. following an operation for cancer ot the stomach. His doath came as a shock to his father as his mother waa buried about a month ago. The services were conducted by Councelor J. S. Holdaway ot the Third ward bishopry The Invocation was by Itilmer, M. Nelson and the benediction by Jens P. Fugal. ' Th musical numbers were a male quar. tette number by Neils Fugal, R. E. Moffet, Clarence Hilton and , Mr, Thornton, also a mixed quartette number by Ethel West, Cora Nash, Clarence Hilton and R. E. Moffit; A violin solo was rendered by R. Easton Moffet.
