Grade School Notes Protection Of Our Forests Many people who go among the hills in the summer come in contact with the most beautiful scenes of life. One of these Is the forests and groves of trees. No one living indoors in-doors can enjoy life; as those living out of doors or among the hills. There( man is closer to nature and her wonderfal work. Yet there are some who do not care whether or not we have these scenes of nature, and It is these people who are helping to destroy our forests by being careless with their campflres,. etcw Among our western hills we have more or less of the pines than in the East. These trees catch fire much quicker than the broad-leaved, hardwood hard-wood trees tn the Eastern hills, and therefore we should be more careful. Then again we have a dry climate, in our Western country and the grass and weeds 'dry out and are killed for thirst. These are easily Ignited much more so than the moist vegetation vegeta-tion In the East President Roosevelt called a meeting meet-ing at the White House, for the gov-enors gov-enors of all the states, and there they considered the conservation of our natural resources. Throughout the areas of forest reservations, res-ervations, roads, and pathways have been made and telephone wires set .-J ..,., nfinn linn up ine mouniou iuicdv - ll-28-2t these in their constant watch for Frank G.
