Jones, Frank Humphries, Ned Wtlden. Pete Adamson, C T. Jones and a few other small stock-holders stock-holders atrwk a big body of ore In the upper workings of the Old May Hower. Thin company has been working the property for several years and are the successors to the May Flower company who abandoned the ground. The vein of ore encountered en-countered Is lead carbonate and assays as-says quite high. The body Is a vein about 27 feet wide and Is running In a east-west direction. It was ex plored only a short distance, probably fifteen feet when winter weather set in and stopped operations. It la not known how extensive the body U but from all indications it -extends both ways along a porphyry dike and goes down as well as up. Work Is to be resumed at once on the property and the extent of the body Is to be determined. J. U. WaJker or Salt Lake City, one of tho Walker Bros, store operators, became Interested 1 the property when he saw the showing the mine had and has been trying to get the company to give him a lease or an Interest in the company, for vhlch he was wllllag lorput up money to operate oper-ate the mine. To date he has been unsuccessful In getting the stock holders together on the proposition although 1ieuMd succeed tn buytrrg 80,000 shares of private stock last week. He paid In most cases 15.00 per acre for the land It Is said that he has to date made an investment In the district of over $12,000.00. He has located a tunnel in Mill canyon, just east of the Old May Mower workings and is starting work to cut the fissure which his surveyors and geologists have figured is running that way from the new strike In the new mine. He has the new tunnel .In about 20 feet and has a three drill compressor on the way which will be put to work In the canyon. Pon Wilcox and throe men have boon employed by Mr. Walker all summer in the canyon making locations, lo-cations, prospecting, cutting timber and driving the new tunnel. They expect ex-pect .to continue the work as long as it Is possible to work thla fall and look to aee a big thing developed in this section before long. The West Canyon Developeni com pany omcers are to resume operations oper-ations In the very, near future but as yet they have not determined whether or not they will attempt to finance the deal themselves or will le the Walker Interests in on the proposition. Thla will, be determined at the next meeting of the board which should be held rn the next ten days.
