Show QSztn Ft Pmt Rvtw July 29,1998- tag 22 Head Start now accepting applications Ocsso$bg!n$ept.8in UN end American Fork Mountainland Head Start is enrolling four year olds for Ereschool classes that will egin on Sept. 8, Children must be four years old before Sept. 1, 1998 and the family must meet federal income guidelines. Mountainland Head Start has centers in Heber, Lehi, American Fork, Orem, Provo, Spanish Fork, Payson, Goshen and Mona. Head Start is a federally funded preschool program for children of low income families and has received national praise for excellence in work-ing work-ing with both children and parents. par-ents. A limited number of children chil-dren with special needs may be accepted regardless of family income. There is no cost to families who qualify, but all partici pants are expected to volunteer some time to the program. Classes are held Monday through Thursday for three and one-half hours. There are 15-16 children per classroom. Transportation to and from school is provided, and children are served a hot lunch and a snack daily. Randy was born in American Fork on July 7, 1977. He was a high school and seminary graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. He Valley State attended Utah College for two years where he received honors for his academic achievements and was preparing to attend the University of Utah in the fall. He enjoyed working with his father at Wasatch Pines. He also loved reading, walking with his dog, weight lifting and working with cars. Randy was a quiet person with a good sense of humor. We will miss laughing laugh-ing with him. We love you, Randy. Randy is survived by his parents: par-ents: Norm and Sheryl Crosby of Pleasant Grove; his brothers and sisters: Jim and Eliece Jenkins, Lehi; Mark and Tonya Crosby, Sun Valley, Idaho; Scott and Ten Blatter, Magna; and Tyler Crosby, Pleasant Francis C. Jones Francis C. Jones, age 70 of Payson, passed away Saturday, July 25, 1998 at his home. He was born Dec. 22, 1927 in Cedar City, Utah, a son of WiUiam Henry and Edna Canfield Jones. He married Jeannett Beardall, April 14, 1951 in Provo. Their marriage was solemnized Oct. 10, 1953 in the St. George LDS Temple. Francis retired from the U.S. Navy after serving in World War II and the Korean A Floyd Thomas Arden Floyd Thomas, age 72 of Lehi, died July 24, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City of natural natur-al causes. He was born July 4, 1926 in Provo, Utah, son of Arden a and Millie Skinner Thomas. He was raised in Provo. He was a veteran, having served in the Army during World War 2. He Reva R. Reva was born in Pleasant Grove to John Erving and Margaret Helen Chesnut Richins on Sept. 27, 1914. She was raised ana attended school in the Pleasant Grove area. She Kf Conflict. Survivors include: his wife, Jeannett, of Payson; four 30ns and three daughters: Alvin (Ginny) Jones, American Fork; Willie (Terri) Jones, Orem; Sheryl (David) Anderson, Lehi; Jim "Buzz (Lori) Jones, Pleasant Grove; Janet (Chuck) Bogue, Hot Springs, Arkansas; David (Maria) Jones, Orem; Kathleen (John) Carrillo, Orem; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four was involved in farming in the Lehi area for many years. Most of his life and activity surrounded his work on the farm. Survived by two sons and one daughter, Pete (Vickie) Thomas, Gary (Cheryl) Thomas, both of Lehi; Diane (Dave) Snedden, Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Mary) Thomas, Lehi. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 29, 1998 at 10 a m. in the Lehi City Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I 1J met and married James Lawrence Ashton and they were later sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. They had four children: Sharleen and Stan Walker, James and Jean Ashton, Don and Sherrie Ashton, and Joan Evans. She spent 25 years taking care of her special children at the Training School along with many others. She leaves behind a legacy of four children and their spouses, a sister, Maxine (Bill) Forbes, 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. She will be missed by all. Funeral Services were Monday in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork. Burial was in the American Fork Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30-10-30 a.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery on Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. sisters and three brothers, Amanda Fawcett, St. George; Bessie Allen, Provo; Leslie Jones, Salt Lake; William "Dee" Jones, La Crescenta, Calif.; Ruth Lang, Santa Clara; Pam Goddard, Ariz.; and John Jones, of Bountiful. He was preceded in death by a grandson, grand-son, Aaron Jones; a sister and a brother, Viola Taylor and Kenneth Jones. Services will be Thursday, July 30, 1998, 1:00 p.m., in the Mountain View 8th LDS Ward Chapel, 681 East 500 North, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., or at the church Thursday, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the V.F.W.Dist. 4.
