After a winning season, the Cougars defeated both American Fork and the Orem Cougars to win the southern division title in a tournament hosted in American Fork. In the state tournament held in Ogden, the American Fork Cougars Cou-gars defeated Smithfield 12-10 to win the state crown. Smithfield was the defending state champion and northern division leader. Players from American Fork on the state championship team are Mark Studdert, Chris Studdert and Chris Hermansen, all of whom have played on the BYU baseball team. Also from American Fork are Scott Lewis and David Studdert, both members of the American Fork high School baseball team, who were both named second team All-State during 1993. Other players on the team came from Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Orem and Provo. The team was coached by Gerald Ger-ald Cooper and Steve Studdert.
