Show Social Scene Wendy Porter and Gary Dent to marry April 13 Wendy Porter and Gary Dent have chosen to wed April 13 at the Bungalow in Pleasant Grove. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven C. Porter of Highland. The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dent of Orem. The newlyweds will be honored at a reception that same afternoon from 1 to 3 at the Bungalow, 235 S. 100 West, Pleasant Grove. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Harris will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house to be held in her honor Sunday, April 14, at the home of Clifton J. Wadley, 2362 N. 100 East, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, from 2 to 6 p.m. She was born April 7, 1901, to Richard D. and Mary Ellen Olsen Wadley in Pleasant Grove. Her f avorite pastime at age 90, whether alone or visiting with friends, is reliving the wonderful memories of her early years attending school, church and many fun activities with choice friends in the Old Manila Ward. She attended Pleasant Grove High School, followed by graduation gradu-ation from the Brigham Young University with a degree in education. educa-tion. Her first year of teaching was in the elementary school at Charleston, where she met and married Vivian B. Edwards in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.. Several years later she returned to teaching and taught for many years in the Lindon, American Fork and Salt Lake City schools. Kerri Watts Kerri Watts places 1st in dance Keri Lyn Watts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Watts, American Fork, participated in the Dance America Competition held at Alta High School on March 1 and 2. She did a modern jazz solo in the age group (5th and 6th grade) and she took first place. She takes dance at the Dance Academy in American Fork and the dance instructors are Holly Gifford and Sandy Shannon. Holly Gifford did the choreography choreogra-phy for Keri's dance. Second only to her family, is Fern's love and ability to grow beautiful flowers. Her chrysanthemum chrysanthe-mum gardens in Orem attracted admiring visitors for many years throughout the months of summer and late fall. Although advancing years have limited her ability to grow acres of flowers, her garden in Pleasant Grove reflects her love and desire to still grow prize-winning blossoms. blos-soms.
