The couple will exchange vows at the McClan Home on July 3rd. The newlyweds will be honored at a reception that same date from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McClan Home, 225 W. 400 North, Or em. The bride-to-be is a graduate of American Fork High School, attended at-tended BYU and graduated from Continental College of Beauty. She manages Orem Hollywood Beauty College. The prospective groom is also a graduate of American Fork High School. He is an active member of the Army Reserve and is employed at Wrights in Provo. They will be honored at a reception that evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lehi North Stake Center, 851 N. 1200 East. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Attending the bride will be Diane Fredrickson, Jody Ralphs, Kendra Smith and Kallie Smith. Best man duties will be per formed by Brian Wright, with Clifford Smith and Ryan Smith. The bride-elect graduated from Utah State University with a degree in accounting. She is currently employed in Salt Lake City. Her fiance served a mission for the LDS Church in the Mexico, Torreon Mission. Thomson of Highland are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lorie, to Johnathan J. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson of Pleasant Grove. The couple will exchange vows in the Jordan River LDS Temple on June 27. A reception will honor the newlyweds that same day from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents at 6130 W. 9600 North, Highland. All friends and relations are invited to attend. Miss Straley is a 1984 graduate of Box Elder High School in Brigham to become bride Friday, June 28 City. She is now employed at Roland Communications, Inc. in Salt Lake City. Mr. Tolman is a 1978 graduate of American Fork High School. He served an LDS mission in the Spokane, Washington Mission. He attended the Utah Technical College for two years and is now employed at Hercules in magna. The bride is the ddaughter of Mrs. Patsy L. Hill, Hobbs, N.M., and Darrell D. Hooley, American Fork. IL-She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ivy Lee of American r or. . The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bowyer of Hobbs, N.M. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white delustered taffeta gown with a chapel length train. Multilayers of lace formed an off the shoulder neckline and was also at the hemline of the gown. The short, puffed sleeves were trimmed with matching lace. She wore a tulle and lace English-style riding hat with veiling that extended ex-tended the full length of the dress. Attending as matron of honor was Marlene Phillips. A reception was held at the home of the bride's mother in Hobbs. The three-tiered heart-shaped cake was designed and decorated by the bride's mother. After a trip to Carlsbad, N.M., the couple are at home in Hobbs, N.M. American Fork Lions roar at state convention The American Fork Lions and Ladies had an impressive fun time at the recent four-day state convention con-vention in Price. The American Fork group "whooped it up" when Dr. Blake Evans was installed as District Governor, representing the south half of the state. There were 18 couples present from American Fork, and they won the cash award for the highest percentage attendance. at-tendance. Price Lions put on a splendid convention that brought considerable con-siderable praise from all clubs in the state. A unique event was the selling of $2 bills to each couple when they registered. These two dollar bills were spent in the community, which caused the merchants to smile and the residents to realize that the Lions State Convention was a real asset to Price. Dr. Walter Ballard of Colorado, representing Lions International, was the guest speaker at the banquet the finalk evening. Dr. Ballard and his lovely wife Joann received standing ovations. Utah Representative James V. Hansen came out from Washington. He gave a stirring address and also received a standing ovation. District Governors R. Haze Hunter of Cedar City and Royal Stoker of South Salt Lake were in charge. The American Fork Lions and Ladies will install their new officers for the coming year in their meeting Thursday, June 27, at the Tiffin Room in the Orem Mall.
