State Road, Pleasant Grove, 7857318 NANCY CALEFFE, professional clinician for the hearing impaired, formally from Denver, Colorado, has been named director of "A Child Shall Speak Clinic", in Orem. Here she teaches four-year-old "deaf" child, Jeremy Chamberlain, son of Ken and Julie Chamberlain of Lehi, how to "LISTEN and SPEAK". With her Ms. Caleffe brings a unique approach for the teaching of the "deaf", used in Denver for over 30 years - The Auditory-Verbal approach. This approach, unavailable in any other part of Utah, was introduced to the state with the encouragement of Merrill Osmond, said Morris Stuart, acting president of "A Child Shall Speak Clinic", 1799 North State, Orem. According to Ms. Caleffe, children with serious hearing assignments assign-ments are now able to respond to sound, even though they are classified as "deaf. " 'A Child Shall Speak Clinic', is, in my opinion, a vital community asset," maintained Merrill Osmond. "Nancy Caleffe, is, undoubtedly un-doubtedly one of the best trained and experienced therapists in the United States to teach the hearing impaired im-paired children of our community how to listen and speak."
