Barbara was born July 20, 1949 in L.ehi, Utah to Byron and Virginia Pectol. She married Clarence Juone Pollard September 9. 1970. Barbara attended Salt Lake Community College and worked for the Utah fX-partment of Agriculture Agri-culture until she had her only Son Brian on May 17, 1977. She enjoyed en-joyed sewing, reading and phone conversations. Survived by her Husband; f)uone, Son; Brian (MaryAnn), Brother; Doug (Nancy) Pectol. and Sister Christine (Matthew) Behunin. Preceded in death by her Sister Diana and Parents Byron and Virginia Vir-ginia Pectol. The winner, Britnee Nguyen, was one of more than 40 communications com-munications students across Utah and Idaho to compete for a $1,000 cash prize and an internship with the 2008 nonprofit client, Utah Cancer Foundation. The contest began in October Octo-ber when students submitted a written public relations strategy for the Utah Cancer Foundation to increase name awareness of the organization organiza-tion and raise funds for its lawn service. Each document included research, objectives, tactics and a time line for the proposed events. He was born August 24, 1924 in American Fork to den James and Clarissa Leila Bigler Sykes. Bill grew up in American Fork and attended Harrington Elementary School and graduated from American Fork High School in 1942 where he participated in many activities. He was a cheerleader, played the sousaphone in the band, starred in many school plays, and was the class clown. He was a friend to all. During WWII, Bill served in the Army Air Core and learned to fly B-52's. After the war, he married his loving sweetheart, Margaret Priday on June 1, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their lives were blessed with 6 children; Mary Anita Sykes, Glen Priday (Carol) Sykes, Patricia Sykes (Richard) Tolton. Mark Priday (Bonnie) Sykes. Marilyn Sykes and Joanne Sykes. Bill was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings including Sunday School Presidency, Stake High Counsel, It is a theme and an art that envelopes Caldiero's life. He explains that getting involved with this type of performance happened so gradually over the years that he now cannot distinguish it from his life, and as artist in residence it is his duty to practice. Caldiero has performed at dozens of campus events and classroom demonstrations. He is the author of several books, anthologies, articles and exhibitions. ex-hibitions. He has performed at locations such as the Utah Art's Festival and on National Public Radio. This event is free and open to the public. UVU To Kick Off Homecoming Homecom-ing Week With a week full of events such as a dodgeball tournament, bonfire and basketball game, it can only mean one thing - it's Homecoming Home-coming Week. The annual Utah Valley University Homecoming Home-coming Week will celebrate the UVU community, friends Of HAIR enroll ma? Stake Mission Presidency, Temple Worker, Scout Troop Committee, and was a very dedicated Home Teacher. He and Margaret served two missions; one in Nauvoo, Illinois, and one in the Church Employment Center. Bill worked in construction and helped build many homes. He retired from Geneva Steel in 1985. He was an incredible handyman. Bill spent many days helping people by fixing up their homes, building shelves, and doing odd jobs. Many times he did this through the goodness of his heart as his only pay. He performed many humble acts of quiet service. He was a master gardener, and shared the produce from his garden gar-den with all he knew, especially the widows. His yard really looked like the Garden of Eden. Bill is survived by his loving wife, 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nina Sykes Hansen, and daughter Mary Anita. Funeral Services were held Monday. Dec. 1, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Spring Hollow Ward, 700 West 500 North. Friends called Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North and Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 prior to the services at the church. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery. Loved Don R. 1927 Don Ray Pittman, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, Mon-day, Decem ber 1,2008 in Provo, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 19, 1927. He married Donna Turner in 1948 and was later solemnized in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in 2001. He is survived by his wife. Donna, Don-na, three daughters; Susan (Rex) Finlinson.
