Born on December 10, 1920, he was the son of Fredrick & Martha Eitner Brock. "Wally" married his sweetheart, Bertha Eliza Clarke, on November 22, 1950, in the Salt Lake City temple. Bertha passed away prematurely in 1961. He is survived by one son, James Walter Brock (married to Ann Wiley) of Fairfield, California, Califor-nia, three grandchildren - Adam, Janet, and Andrew Brock, and brother, Richard Eitner Brock of Salt Lake City. (His daughter, Jane Drew Brock, was born and died in 1956.) Walter served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II from William Bryan Hunt Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather William (Bill) Bryan Hunt, age 72, died at home on July 10, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 29, 1936 in Waterloo, Montana to the late George H. Hunt and Mable B. Cox. He attended at-tended Whitehall High School and later moved to Butte. Montana. On July 26, 1968 he married Shirley Rowe of Butte. Bill moved his family from Montana to Utah and has resided in American Fork for the past 30 years where he drove long haul and local trucks until he retired in 2004. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many positions po-sitions in his local church. He also served as an ordinance worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and served an LDS mission with his wife in Nauvoo, IL Dustin Dustin C Smith, age 34. passed away sudden ly on July 14, 2008. He was born to Max Carl Smith and Cecile Raybould on March 13, 1974. He teved traveling, music, target shooting and spending time with his family. He also served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Je-sus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1947-1949. He received Bachelor of Science Sci-ence ( 1953) and Master of Education Educa-tion degrees (1969) in sociology and education respectively from Brigham Young University. He was an outstanding educator educa-tor as both Junior High School teacher and school psychologist for the Alpine School District. He was a faithful, active member of his church and magnified every assignment he was given. He married Donna Olpin Ash on November 16, 1962, who passed away on January 9, 1992. He subsequently married Usa Dunkley Cutler, who passed away on November 7, 1999. He shared his life with these wonderful women wom-en and their children and grandchildren, grand-children, along with his aforementioned aforemen-tioned beloved posterity. Interment and gravesite services ser-vices were held at the American Fork Cemetery. Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley, and his daughters Mindy Hunt (Blythe, CA),Melisa (Lisa) and Carl Durfey (Am Fork. UT), Melanie and Bryce Kerby (Aztec, NM), Tammy Beck and Eli Thompson Thomp-son (Am Fork, UT), Rachell Kern (Joplin, MO), one brother, Edwin and wife Joyce Hunt (Butte. MT) and one sister, Alta May Hoffman (Butte, MT), 20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives rela-tives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, EIroy Hunt. Funeral services were held at 11 am Tuesday. July 15, 2008 at the American Fork 4th Ward Chapel, 455 East 300 North. Viewings were held Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, Mortu-ary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork and Monday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services. ser-vices. MCANIATIA-1 XtCMvNl (Helen) Sherryl May 29, 1941 Helen Sherryl Swain Hassard, our beloved Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandma, Great Grandma and Friend passed away peacefully on July 14, 2008 in the American Fork Hospital Hos-pital due to complica tions from a pulmonary embolism. She was surrounded by her loving family. Helen Sherryl is best known by her friends and family as "Sher" or " Sher Bear." Sher was born May 29, 1941 in Vernal, Utah. While attending attend-ing Utah State University, she met Myron L Hassard. After a wonderful romance, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 19, 1962. She later completed com-pleted her education, earning a BS in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education. Sher and Myron raised their children in the Cottonwood Heights area of Salt Lake City, Utah. Later they moved to Cedar Hills, Utah where they lived for the last 22 years. Sher and Myron have five children: chil-dren: Sherlyn (Chris) Tambasco; Jason (Mialah) Hassard; Mindy Hassard; Rebekah (Alex) Pep-enella; Pep-enella; and Rachel Covington. She has 14 "Grandies" and one Great Grand Baby. She was preceded in death by her parents Bertrand and Fern Gerber Swain and her brother Lyle Swain. Sher had an unwaivering testimony testi-mony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She served two LDS Employment Missions and a full-time mission with her husband in Worcester, MA. She was also an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Sher lived life with a passion. She always enjoyed being the life of the party, and she Joved telling stories with great animation. She shewed great kindness and loved everyone she met. Through Sher's eyes, life was vibrant, and she approached challenges with great courage. Sher is survived by her husband, hus-band, children and siblings, Ber-tella Ber-tella Aldridge, Vard Swain, Clark Swain and Keith Swain. Joni Lea Gunter - Joni Lea Gunter-Vilardell-Partridge, born February 22, I960 in Charleston, WV, began a new chapter of her eternal life on July 10, 2008 in Hemet, CA, after a courageous coura-geous battle with breast cancer. Joni has two sons: Drew Nicholas, Nicho-las, 17; and Bud Richard, 7. She is the oldest child of John and Diane Gunter of American Fork, Utah, and a special sister of: Robin (Layne) Brown; Sean; Shannon (Jodi); John Jr. - "Bugs" (Brooxie); and Joshua Gunter. Joni graduated from American Fork High School in 1978 and then attended BYU. She taught English in Korea, taught arts and crafts in several states, loved SCUBA diving, dressing up and all kinds of music. She earned her real estate and broker licenses and was active in many development develop-ment projects. Joni was courageous coura-geous and yet calm in her life despite many challenges and she was the same in her battle with cancer. Joni has always been a bright Kill 200 E. She could put a positive face on anyone or any occasioa In recent years, Joni exhibited ex-hibited a strong insight and deep interest in caring for and helping people from all walks of life. She was especially intuitive, sympathetic sympa-thetic and empathetic in this work and the work became her life's passion. Literally hundreds of people have shared stories about how she changed their lives and helped them move forward with hope. In her service projects, she was an organizer, leader and energetic volunteer with: a local Hemet Food Bank; the Board of the Arrid Club; HVRC Alumni; the Flush Club; and several other local organizations. Services celebrating Joni's life will be held in the American Fork, Utah, 37th Ward located at 396 North 1100 East in American Fork, at 11 AM on Friday, July 18, 2008, with a viewing preceding the services starting at 10 AM. A viewing will be held Thursday evening at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary at 49 East 100 North between 6 PM and 8 PM.
