It started on Monday evening eve-ning as our oldest daughter broke her ankle. Now, anyone who has ever had to take care of a six-year-old girl in severe pain has learned patience. I was counting my blessings that I was blessed with patience pa-tience as we waited hours for a diagnosis. I he days to follow proved to be even more difficult as our daughter can't walk on her foot, go to the rest room alone, sleep alone, go to school, or even make it to the dinner table without assistance. So, between the two of us, we have both learned to be patient with each other. But, as I look back on all the good things in life I find that all good things take time. Most experiences that I have in life somehow relate with cooking. Maybe this is because my brain is trained to think of food, recipes, and new ideas for my family and my job. I love to make people happy with food. As 1 have thought about being patient and knowing know-ing that all good things take time, I relate this with cooking. Baking bread takes time to raise and bake. How many times have you made cookies and you could just not wait for the dough to cook, so you ate the cookie dough itself? Cooking a juicy, tender roast and waiting for the final product prod-uct can be so hard. I do know that food is worth the wait. Try new recipes. Some may be what you want and others may be thrown out, but until you try and you are patient and keep trying until you get it just right, you will never know what you are missing out on. The recipe this week will require you to have patience as you watch your bananas become very ripe, and black. Yes, black. The more "rotten" you can have your bananas the better the bread will taste. When you first read the recipe rec-ipe you will want to jump right up and bake this scrumptious bread. But wait a week and things will taste better. Good luck watching your bananas ba-nanas brown, and at the rate I am going there will be no baby this week, only more batter chatter in the making. 1 am looking for new holiday recipes.
