Monson will celebrate cele-brate his 80th birthday this month with an open house on Saturday, August 19, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Bob was born on August 20, 1926 to George Albert and Mary ; Thomas Monson in the home he i was raised in . He live d within a mile of that home in Manila his entire life. i Bob graduated from Pleasant fcrove High School in 1944 and Immediately joined the Air Force which took him to Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines. When he returned home he married ; his neighbor and friend, Beverly West Swensen, who had become a widow while he was in the service. ser-vice.
