During the nine weeks of train-ing.the train-ing.the soldier studied the Army mission, 'history, tradition and core values, ;physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weaponschemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony cere-mony , marching, rifle marksmanship, marksman-ship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. He achieved distinction as an honor graduate. Faull is the son of Mary Jane Faull of El Rancho Drive S.W., Albuquerque, NM. His brother, Matthew Faull, ire-sides ire-sides in Saratoga Springs, (Utah. The Utah County 'Fair at Thanksgiving Point. Fair activities activi-ties began Wednesday and will continue through Saturday-Admission is $3 adults, $2 students and $1 seniorchild. This year, organizers have themed the activities at the yearly local fair "Double Dare:" The theme is taken from a popular '80s game show on Nickelodeon with the same name. The wild challenges and messy fun from the show inspired in-spired many of the games and contests that take place at the four-day event. "We had such great success with last year's theme 'Fair Factor,' Fac-tor,' and we thought we would just carry on that same idea or tradition with the TV-show theme," said John Wittaker.tf air director. "It's just kind of fun to get everyone excited." Most of the activities are geared for kids, including "Holey "Hol-ey Hats," which involves team members tossing water balloons bal-loons into their teammates'itop-less teammates'itop-less hats, or, "Drippiri'Donuts," where participants try to be the first to eat a honey-slathered donut'hanging on a string. "We want the games to be gooey but we know (participants) (par-ticipants) will be in their own clothes,"iFair Activities Coordinator Coor-dinator Elisa Ward said. "So we had to change some of the activities to use water or use things that weren't as messy:" Many of the activities are targeted towards younger children, with a few for teenagers teenag-ers and a relay race for adults. Ward said they will try to accommodate ac-commodate all of the children so everyone has a chance to participate in the games. Winners Win-ners receive one of a variety of prizes, including bowling gift certificates, movie tickets, and .T-shirts and flip-flops.
