And then, "amazing." No further explanation was needed because no two words better summed up Rohbock's feelings feel-ings on this frosty Tuesday night in the Italian Alps, when she fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an Olympic medalist. Wrapping themselves in American Ameri-can flags, Rohbock and Valerie Fleming reveled in winning silver in women's bobsled, the first medal for the U.S. sledding contingent at the Turin Games. They came in 0.71 seconds behind German gold medalists Sandra Kiriasis and Anja Schneiderheinze, and 0.32 seconds ahead of Italian bronze winners Gerda Weissensteiner and Jennifer Isacco. Accessory structure OK'd A 1,795-square-foot detached accessory structure was approved Feb. 14 by the Orem City Council for property at 1386 S. 1080 East, in the site-specific PD-18 PD-18 zone. Development Services Director Stan Sainsbury said the property owner is building a home and plans to use the accessory structure for a basketball court. The building meets requirements for setbacks and matching the home architecturally. Councilman Stephen Sandstrom asked if there would be any different requirements if the application ap-plication were for a garage. Sainsbury said there would not be. The owner is not allowed to rent out the building, but is able to use it for any accessory structure use, Sainsbury said. Fighting alcohol sales to minors Orem has joined with the Utah County Health Department De-partment in implementing a program to discourage the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. The Eliminate Alcohol Sales to Youth (EASY) program was developed by the health department. An interlocal agreement approved Feb. 14 by the Orem City Council provides for coordination among government agencies in conducting alcohol compliance compli-ance checks for off -premise beer sales. The agreement is intended to promote "a spirit of cooperation" among governmental entities, law enforcement, and local businesses. A third stated purpose of the contract is to "acquire "ac-quire data in regards to the evaluation of the Beer Handler's Training" that is conducted by the Utah County Division of Substance Abuse and Prevention. Under terms of the agreement, Orem is required to conduct four alcohol compliance checks quarterly quarter-ly and to provide a police officer and an unmarked vehicle for the checks. The county provides the funds for the compliance checks and reimburses Orem $15 for each one conducted con-ducted in the city.
