Show NEW PLAN FOR UNITED FUND Labor unions and business executives ex-ecutives will join hands in providing pro-viding highly trained personnel from- their organizations on a "loaned executive" basis to conduct con-duct the United Fund campaign this fall. They will occupy desks at the United Fund headquarters, 72 West Second South on a full time basis for a period of four to six weeks preceding the campaign, cam-paign, without cost to the United Fund for their services. "The loaned executives will be working on a full time basis with the Salt Lake Area United Fund for the purpose of perfecting the pre-campaign organization as a measure of reducing the campaign cam-paign period and reaching the set goal of $851,000 in the shortest short-est possible time," John.H. Klas, campaign chairman, pointed out. j "They will be supplementing, not supplanting, the regular leadership of the campaign," he said. Prior to assuming his United Fund responsibilities, the loaned executive will go through an intensive in-tensive training course, according accord-ing to Mr. Klas. At this time he will be oriented on the history and program of the United Fund, the basic principles of the thirty federated agencies of the United Fund and the part the agencies play in meeting the health, wel-lare wel-lare and character building needs of the community. The purpose of the loaned executive ex-ecutive is to provide an adequate team of capable, trained manpower man-power for the campaign, serving as executive assistants to top volunteer vol-unteer leadership, responsible to and directed by the staff. They will be directly concerned with the internal organization of chapter, chap-ter, training of chapter personnel, person-nel, tours of agencies, and will follow up on details with campaigners cam-paigners under the direction of divisional group chairmen. He will keep a close check on firm campaigns and will work closely with executive and 'employee solicitation. In a sense the loaned executive execu-tive program is not a new program, pro-gram, as for years many volunteers volun-teers have devoted full time to the United Fund, and firms and labor unions have been furnishing furnish-ing employees and executives to work on campaigns. However, making men available on a full time basis, free of their regular jobs for a number of weeks, is a development that has recently been instigated and will be used extensively in the Salt Lake Area United Fund campaign this year. |
