Corporation president and owner Glenn Mitchell said the clinic does all general mechanical mechani-cal repairs (except automatic transmissions) on all domestic and most Japanese import models. mod-els. Sav-Mor Auto Clinic has four technicians and six service bays. Work is done by appointment on a per day basis, where technicians tech-nicians try to have repairs completed com-pleted by the end of the day so customers are not without their vehicles for long. Mitchell brings 22 years of experience ex-perience in automotive repairs to the business, which has been at fts Orem location for 18 years. Sav-Mor's technicians; too, bring experience to the table. Two have been with Mitchell for over 15 years, one for eight years, and the fourth for four years, contributing contrib-uting consistency and dependability depend-ability to the business. Mitchell said he has not relied on high pressure advertising to bring in patrons, but the majority major-ity of the clinic's work has been with satisfied repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals. t f i f f i n t i , e-s. 1 in- Win if' f 4 i A fat 4 ti ' t s ! In the 1970s, diagnosing diag-nosing repair problems took 25 6f a technician's time, and the other 75 was spent doing the work. Now those percentages are almost reversed, he said, and components are most often re placed rather than repaired. One of the biggest challenges, Mitchell explained, is to help the public understand "the complexity complex-ity of the automobile". For example, ex-ample, if a car is stalling, there could be three or four different causes. Sav-Mor technicians are careful to diagnose correctly to take care of the problem, so needless need-less repairs are not done. On-going training for technicians is emphasized in order to keep up with the changing technology. Clutches, C.V.axles, inspections, inspec-tions, emissions, alignments, and mufflers are just a sampling of the work that Sav-Mor Clinic can handle. Business hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The clinic is closed Saturday and Sunday.
