Growing Growing The railroad fair will feature the new Rickety Rail G scale modular layout, and HO and N scale layouts. Other attractions will include hobby retailers, swap meet tables, display trains, toys, diecast, and collectibles. This event traditionally brings together hundreds of model railroad rail-road enthusiasts from throughout through-out the state. The general public National Music Week As the warmth of spring welcomes wel-comes beautiful flowers from their long winter slumber, so National Music Week helps us to break out of the winter doldrums with lively music. National Music Mu-sic Week is May 5 -8, and includes in-cludes four nights of free concerts for the community. The performances will include the Utah Polynesian Choir, Golden Bough, The Fellingham Family and The Mormon Symphony Sym-phony with featured pianist Dian Baker Drinkall. The performances perfor-mances will be held in the Provo Tabernacle at 7:00 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The Mormon Symphony concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions concerning con-cerning National Music Week, please call the Provo Arts Council Coun-cil at 852-6646. is invited and encouraged to attend. at-tend. FELLINGHAM FAMILY Pioneer Park to benefit from service project To commemorate National Community Action Month in May, youth and volunteers of Project Vision One to One, a volunteer vol-unteer mentoring program for at-risk at-risk youth, will clean up and paint the pavilion at Pioneer Park in Provo. The event will be Tuesday, May 5, 1998, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pioneer Pio-neer Park, 500 West and Center in Provo. Approximately 30 youth, ages 11 to 15,.20 volunteer volun-teer mentors, and two staff mem MAY 6, 1998 bers are expected to participate. The purpose of Project Vision is to prevent drug abuse, gang involvement, in-volvement, poverty, and other social problems through the intervention in-tervention of volunteer mentors. Project Vision One to One currently cur-rently has 40 volunteers serving 55 youth, and is hoping to expand the program by recruiting 30-40 new volunteers this spring. Project Vision is sponsored by Community Action Services. If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done.
