Derrick Helsten called to Arkansas Derrick Helsten, son of Doug and Sue Helsten, has been called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Little Rock, Arkansas Arkan-sas Mission. His farewell will be March 29 at 12:30 in the Canyon View 2nd Ward building located at 1090 North 400 East, Orem. He is a graduate of Orem High School. Chris spoke in sacrament meeting March 15 in the Spokane Spo-kane 7th Ward. He enters the Missionary Training Center April 8. Chris attended Orem High School and graduated from South Sevier High School in Monroe, Utah. He has attended one year at Snow College. He has been serving a mini-mission in the Spokane Mission since December, De-cember, 1997. Flanagan has graduated from basic military training at ' Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Explorers and Exploring leaders from the 14 speciality career posts enjoyed an evening of recognition in achievement of outstanding youth and adult service. Recognition Recog-nition for the annual Explorer Winter Games & Biathlon also took place. Specialty Career Exploring is specific to career or hobby interests inter-ests of youth partnered in a business, busi-ness, organization of government affiliation. Youth gain actual "experience" "ex-perience" through mentors in their interested career. Youth in these programs total 400 as of December 31, 1997 and is growing grow-ing by over 20 every year.
