Ryan Holdaway. to receive Eagle Award Ryan Keith Holdaway will receive his Eagle Award on Saturday, May 24, at 4 p.m. He is the son of Keith and Joni Holdaway. Hol-daway. A few highlights in Scouting have been attending Timberline, going to the Uintas, and kyacking down the North Fork of the Salmon River with his dad, brother, and Varsity team. He also attended the 1993 National Jamboree held at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. Ryan played football for Mountain View and received the "Offensive Player" and "Outstanding Senior Student" Stu-dent" awards in football for the 1996 season. For Ryan's Eagle project, he solicited funds from the Vineyard Town Council and provided each residence in the town with a smoke alarm. Geake has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program Pro-gram at the U.S. Army Recruiting Recruit-ing Station, Provo, Utah. Here are a few important things to remember: Greg Roper earns Eagle Scout Award Greg Roper, 15, will receive the Eagle Scout Award on May 24, 1997, in a Court of Honor to be held in the LDS Vineyard Ward Cultural Hall. He is the son of Gail and Linda Roper. He is a ninth-grade student at Lakeridge Junior High School. He plays the piano, and loves to repair and ride motorcycles motor-cycles and ATVs. Ice Hockey and street hockey are his favorite sports. Greg attended the World Scout Jamboree in Holland in 1995. He attended the National Scout Jamboree in 1993, and will attend the 1997 National Scout Jamboree this July. He has also been to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and attended at-tended Timberline Training and Varsity Tri-Stars. His Eagle service project was the remodeling of a storage building at the LDS Vineyard Ward Pavilion. Draw & "Win with Utah Power's Electric Safety Contest This contest was developed to help educate you and your children about some of the dangers associated with outdoor activities. For kids to enter, all they have to do is draw a picture with an electric safety message and send it to Utah Power. They can create their own or pick one of the topics at left. All contestants will receive a prize and 25 winners will receive a $100 savings bond. CONTEST RULES Artwork must be the original hand drawn creation of the contestant and all contestants must be from 5 to 12 years of age. Limit one entry per person. Winners will be notified by July 15, 1997. Drawings should be horizontal on 8-12" x 1 1" size paper. The back of the artwork must have the contestant's full name, age, address and phone number.
