The Northen Utah Valley Pianon Associateion recently held its annual piano solo festival where 680 young musicians from grades Kindergarten to 12th grad perfromed. The subsequent Honors REcital featured the outstanding out-standing performers in their age level. In the K-3 grade level, the cash prize winners were Chad Haynes, Amy Robinson, Caitlin Allen, Carson Keele, Tiffany Gur-ney Gur-ney and Nicole Watts. Honorable mention winners included Mark Acerson, Trent Boulter, Becky Gillmore, Whitney Hart, Haley Huish, Brelyn Linford, Maria Mace, Matthew Pheysey, Jen- PGHS Class of '53 to hold reunion The Pleasant Grove High School Class of 1953 is holding their 40th class reunion on Saturday, Satur-day, May 29th at 7 p.m. in the old high school auditorium (now Pleasant Grove Recreation Center) Cen-ter) at 41 East 200 South. Beehive Home for the elderly to open soon Randy and Alaine Cottle are announcing the opening of a Beehive Home for the elderly in Oreml It win be located at 67 West 1200 North, and is expected to open the first part of July. The home offers assisted living for the elderly. There will be six private rooms, two larger semi-private rooms, or a room for a couple. Residents are assisted with everything, including baths, medication, and 24-hour care in a residential, home-style setting. They receive three home-cooked meals each day, cooked from scratch. Their laundry and cleaning clean-ing is also done for them. Nursing care and physical therapy is also available through a in-home health care service. The Cottle's will be the OwnersAdministrators of the home. Randy has a degree in Business Management and Psychology and has experience in owning and operating his own business. Alaine has a nursing degree and has worked with the elderly for eight years. They are the parents of five children and live in Pleasant Grove. Fire destroys van Orem firefighters responded to a fire call Monday in which a van parked in the vicinity of 12th North and 6th West was burning. Police spokesman Gerald Nielsen said the van, valued at $10,500, was totally destroyed.
