Page 5 Orem-Geneva Times Wednesday, March 31, 1993 Laura Dayton to marry Todd Taylor in SL Temple - is-- GERALD AND V'SS-SL Stones observe 65th Anniversary Gerald and Grace Stone recently observed their 65th Wedding Anniversary. They were married on March 28, 1928. The Stones are parents of four children: Conrad Stone, Juanita Clark, Paul Stone and David Stone (deceased). They have 13 grandchildren and 46 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Mr. Stone was in the grocery business for many years in the Provo, Orem, Springville area. He was a salesman for Utah Wholesale Grocery and was also in real estate. In 1971 he was Salesman of the Year. He was president of Retail Grocery Association As-sociation and was a member of Orem Kiwanis Club and Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. For many years he served on the general committee commit-tee for the ProYd Freedom Festival. Fes-tival. He, has- had a lifetime of service in the IDS Church, including in-cluding president of MIA and Sunday School, bishop's coun MARK RHODES AND Shanelle Zimmerman to wed Mark Rhodes on Friday Shanelle Zimmerman, daughter of Norine Zimmerman of Orem, and Orin Zimmerman of Spring Lake, will marry Mark Rhodes, son of Ann Rhodes and the late Harry Rhodes, of Orem, on Friday, April 2 at the Bungalow, Bun-galow, 235 South 100 West, Pleasant Grove. ' , They will be honored at a reception that evening at the ungalow. Bridesmaids will be Toni Pettigrew, Natalie Hol-daway, Hol-daway, Jessica Cook and Courtney Skinner. Shanelle's daughter, Shallise, is a flower girl, along with Lacie and Bobbi Loveless. Groom's attendants will be Guy Adams, Scott Soren-son Soren-son and Wade Zimmerman. Shanelle is a graduate of Orem High School. Her fiance is a graduate of American Fork High School. with cut GRACE STONE selor, bishop of Provo 2nd Ward, high councilor and stake clerk. Mrs. Stone has served in many civic positions, including chairman of the Cancer Society, Pink Lady at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and president of the Utah Retail Grocery Association Auxiliary from 1949-50. She was a member of Acacia Literary Club, and is a member of Oak Tree Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Active Ac-tive in the LDS Church, she has been ward and stake Primary and Relief Society president and teacher in many auxiliaries. The Stones served an LDS mission in the Wisconsin-Minnesota and Texas-Dallas missions, mis-sions, and have been ordinance workers in the Provo Temple for 10 years., After residing in Provo for 52 years, they moved to Orem in 1990. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Seven Oaks Reception Center, Cen-ter, 6775 S. 900 East, Midvale, Utah. The bride-to-be graduated from Hillcrest High School and is also a graduate of Brigham Natalie Marrott Grant has been the choreographer for the Miss Orem Scholarship Pageant since 1989. Workshops for the Miss Orem Candidates Weekly Workshops are a very special part of the training of the ten young women who are preparing prepar-ing for the role of the Miss Orem Royalty for 1993. Six weeks of workshops began on March 16 and will continue until the pageant which is scheduled for Saturday, May 1. Professionals in each field of work donate their time and expertise ex-pertise to work with the contestants contest-ants each Tuesday evening for three hours of training. The first workshop was conducted con-ducted at the Dallas Roberts Salon where Larry and Sherrl Curtis and members of their staff helped the girls with techniques on hair care, makeup, and wardrobe. Marianne Bales Thompson spends an hour each week to develop their skills in modeling. Francine Christensen and Denise Warner instruct the girls on how to handle interviews. Natalie Marrott Grant has the assignment as choreographer for the pageant. She has worked with the dancing since 1989. She loves to dance and choreograph. Department Depart-ment at Mountain View High School and is currently teaching at Davis High School. Her fiance is a graduate of Mountain View High School and served a mission for the LDS Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He is vice president of Taylor Window Win-dow and Door, a family business in Orem. After a honeymoon in St. Thomas, the couple will make their home in Murray, Utah. and watching future Miss Orem develop their talents. The production number which Natalie is teaching the contestants contest-ants is a major part of the program pro-gram for the pageant. It is danced to the music Friend Like Me from the movie Aladdin. It is a fun and energetic number and the girls will have a great time entertaining enter-taining the audience. Natalie is married to Morgan Grant. They have two boys: Chase age 7 and Stefan age 3. She was Miss UTC in 1983-84 and placed in the top ten talent finalists in the Miss Utah Pageant. Her other accomplishments accomplish-ments include several musicals and plays and a movie. She has received numerous gymnastic and dance awards. This could be her last year with the Miss Orem Pageant workshops as she and her husband hus-band will be moving to Chicago where Morgan starts medical school in the fall. The contestants and the committee wish her well in her future personal and professional profes-sional endeavors. I ' Since 1952 Don't Pay High Prices TODD HOUSTON TAYLOR AND LAURA DAYTON CARRISSA MARY BENSON Local named Miss Toddler Utah USA Carrissa Mary Benson, 21-month-old daughter of Bryan and Jeanne Benson of Orem, has been named Miss Toddler Utah USA. She also was awarded Miss Beauty and Miss Photogenic honors in Utah's Junior Brites state pageant. Thirty toddlers competed in the pageant held recently at Quality Inn in Salt Lake City. Donna Copper is director direc-tor of the pageant which is one of the nation's largest state-based pageants for children. The toddler will represent the state at this year's festivities. - i4 1 .
