Page 16 Orem-Geneva Times Wednesday, November 25, 1992 7 KELLY THOMPSON Kelly Thompson homecoming Elder Kelly Thompson, the son of Tom and Laura Thompson of Orem, has returned from serving serv-ing in the Texas Houston LDS Mission. He will report on his mission on November 29th, at 4:45 p.m. at Windsor Stake Center Cen-ter at 60 East 1600 North. An open house will follow at the Thompson home at 274 East 1600 North for all friends and family. Alone at Thanksgiving? If you will be alone at Thanksgiving this year, you are invited to a Thanksgiving Dinner at the Evangelical Free Church, 280 S. 400 East, Orem, on Thursday, November 26 from noon to 5 p.m.' The dinner is sponsored by members of the Campus Venture Club of BYU and UVCC, and the Orem Evangelical Free Church. The dinner will be free to those participating. In addition there will be games, crafts, giving thanks, and a football game to watch. Stephen has fol lowed in the footsteps of his f older brothers who are also Eaglt Scouts. Because of the increasing thefts in the area, Stephen chose for his Eagle project, to organize and implement "project identification" iden-tification" to help deter future thefts. He led the scouts in engraving valuable articles with the owners driver's license numbers num-bers so that if they were stolen and then found, they could easily be returned to their owners. 105 homes were contacted, 110 articles ar-ticles were engraved, a total combined com-bined work and meeting hours were over 62 hours. Stephen said "I enjoyed being of service to my community and helping to protect their valuables. Thanks to my family, all the scouts and leaders, and the Orem Police Dept. who helped this project to be such a success. S rT&Jfi BEOS couron COLLIN DAVIDSON Collin Davidson to serve in Guam Mission Collin Davidson, son of Daniel and Janet Davidson, has been called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints in Micronesia, Guam Mission. A farewell will be held on Sunday, Sun-day, November 29, 1992, at 3 p.m. in the chapel at 1051 East 200 North, Orem. An open house will be held at 1137 East 300 North, Orem, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on December 9. Derrick Louder homecoming Elder Derrick Louder has returned home after serving in the Raleigh, North Carolina Mission Mis-sion of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the son of Elgin and Pat Louder. Elder Louder will report his mission at sacrament meeting on Sunday, November 29, 1992 at 1 p.m. in the Orchard Second Ward, 810 East 600 North, Orem. North Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be speaking at sacrament sacra-ment meeting on November 29, 1992, at 11 a.m. in the Edgemont First Ward, 303 West 3700 North, Provo. ARMED FORCES NEWS Glenn Trandler reports aboard USS Constellation Navy Hospitalman Glenn D. Trandler, son of Donald M. and Carolyn J. Trandler of 447 N. 1120 E., Orem, UA, recently reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, Constella-tion, homeported in Philadelphia. The 1989 graduate of Orem High School joined the Navy July 1992. Angeline Peterson promoted to corporal Navy Cpl. Angeline D. Peterson, Peter-son, daughter of Romell and Gail D. Peterson of 1511 S. Sandhill Road, Orem, UT, was recently meritoriously promoted to her present rank while serving with Marine Corps Detachment, Good-fellow Good-fellow Air Force Base, TX. CHRISTOPHER HIGBEE Peterson received the accelerated ac-celerated promotion in recognition recogni-tion of outstanding performance of duty, proficiency and professional profes-sional abilities. The 1989 graduate of Mountain Moun-tain View High School joined the Marine Corps in May 1990. Michael Robison reports aboard USS Ingraham Navy Seaman Michael C. Robison, whose wife Cindy, is the daughter of Shirley Skoy of Orem, UT, recently reported for duty aboard the guided missile frigate USS Ingraham, homeported in Long Beach, CA. He is a 1986 graduate of Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, with a Bachelor of Science degree, and 1991 graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, with a Master of Arts degree, he joined the Navy in June 1992. |
