Faced with an ultimatum to build a suitable building in less than a year or shut down, Cedar City citizens mortgaged their homes, donated the siding from their barns, braved 40-below cold to bring timber from the mountaintops, handcrafted a quarter million adobe bricks. Still in use, Old Main symbolizes SUSC's remarkable heritage and its heartfelt mission: to develop the most precious natural resource of all our youth.
