Show LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF INTENTION IN-TENTION TO CREATE SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT IMPROVE-MENT LIGHTING DISTRICT NUMBER THIRTEEN (13). Notice is hereby given by the City Council of the City of Orem, Utah of the intention of the City Ci-ty of Orem to create a special improvement district to be known as Special Improvement Lighting District Number Thirteen (13) and to levy special assessments to pay for the sanie. The purpose and function of Special Improvement Im-provement Lighting District Number Thirteen Thir-teen (13) and assessments assess-ments therefor shall be to maintain, operate, and furnish with electrical energy seventy-six (76) 9,500 lumen sodium vapor street lamps to be operated for a period of ' ten (10) years beginning on June 1, 1985, and to do all things necessary to complete the project in a workmanlike manner. The District improvements improve-ments are the seventy-six seventy-six sodium vapor street lamps located within or near the public rights-of-way within the District. The plans, specifications, and exact locations of the street lamps are on file at the City of Orem Engineering Office, 955 North 900 West Street, Orem, Utah. The general boundaries of Special Improvement Lighting District Number Thirteen Thir-teen (13) are: 400 South Street on the South, Center Street on the north, 800 East Street on the east and State Street on the west. Special Improvement Im-provement Lighting District Number Thirteen Thir-teen (13) does not contain all the property within these boundaries. An exact ex-act description of the District boundaries is appended ap-pended hereto as "Exhibit "Ex-hibit A". A map setting forth in detail the exact location of the im Orem High Seminary Council Announced Eleven students were appointed to serve as next year's Seminary Council at Orem High School. Their names and positions were announced at an early morning assembly last Friday at the Orem Stake Center. President Clifton M. Pyne of Orem Central Stake made the announcement. Ryan Beckstead will serve as the Seminary President. He is the son of Davell and LaDean Beckstead of the Orem 76th Ward, Orem Stake. Ryan plays quarterback on Orem's football team. He has earned the rank of Eagle Scout with four palms and was this year's runner-up to the Junior Prom King. Serving as Secretary to the council will be Melanie LeBaron of the 7th Ward, Orem North Stake. Melanie has served in several seminary class and ward leadership positions. She is involved in ceramics, concert choir and posted a 4.0 GPA this semester. Doug Larson was named as the Special Events Vice President. He is the son of the late Dr. Robert E. and Kay Larson. Doug resides in the 23rd Ward in Sharon Stake. Among Doug's many talents are his abilities in the area of basketball and track where he participates with Orem High's varsity teams. Doug also is a member of next year's Acappella Choir. Residing in the 72nd Ward of the newly formed Orem North East Stake, Karen Gardner will serve as the Council Historian. Her parents are Kay E. and Naneen Gardner. Karen enjoys piano playing, is a member of next year's Acappella choir and is serving as the junior class historian at Orem High this year. Next year's Activities Vice President will be Scott Jacob. He and his parents, Brent and Lynette Jacob, reside in the 24th Ward of Orem Central Stake. Scott is a member of the National Honor Society, maintain? a 4.0 GPA and will attend Boys' State this year. Scott, also is a member of the Symphonic and Jazz bands as well as the Acappella Choir. The role of Recognitions Vice President will be assumed by Jill Faldmo, daughter of Norman and Carolyn Faldmo of the 19th Ward in Sharon Stake. Jill has served as a 4-H State Ambassador and a state FHA officer. Jill was chosen as one of the 18 girls from the United States to be awarded a FHA scholarship to Japan where she will spend two months this summer. Jill has served as the Junior class secretary this year and will sing with the Acappella Choir next year. Next year there will be two provements and the area of land to be affected by the local assessment is on file in the office of the City of Orem Recorder, Room 114, 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah, and may be inspected by any person desiring further information in regard to Special Improvement Lighting District Number Thirteen (13) during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. The estimated cost of operation for the twelve-month period beginning June 1, 1985 is Twelve Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($12,250.00). It is proposed propos-ed to levy assessments on property in the District to pay all of the costs of the improvements im-provements and utility fees. Assessments shall be based on the linear foot frontage of each parcel of property abutting abut-ting upon the public street. Lots and parcels of land within the District which have a linear frontage that is narrower at the front of the lot and which widen to a greater distance toward the rear of the lot or land shall, because of the benefit to the entirety entire-ty of said lot or land, be assessed based on the average width of the property. pro-perty. All property shall be assessed a minimum assessment equal to the amount assessed for the minimum permitted lot width in the zone in which the land is located. For this district, the minimum permitted lot frontage is established at 75 feet. Also, corner lots or land parcels shall be assessed at the linear length of the side of the lot that is the front of the property, which shall be determined by address of the builidng situated on the property. The assessment in this District shall be assessed and paid in annual an-nual payments, each payment being assessed according to the total expenses ex-penses incurred during the preceeeding year of operation. Russell Teichert, son of Burke and Georgia Teichert of the 57th Ward, Orem East Stake, will fill one role; Deanne Pelo, daughter of Dale and Renae Pelo of the 48th Ward, Orem Stake, will fill the other role. Russell is a member of the Orem High Soccer team, plays the saxaphone with the Jazz Band and has maintained a 4.0 GPA this year. Deanne plays volleyball for Orem High School, is Honor Roll student and will sing with the Acappella Choir next year. Kim Kieffer, residing in the 99th Ward of Windsor Stake, will be the Publicity Vice President. She is the daughter of a set of triplets born to Rusty and Fran Kieffer. Kim is a member of the Orem High yearbook staff and will sing with the Acappella Choir next year. Two students also will fill the roles of Assemblies Vice Presidents next year. Blaine Moss, son of Dr. Dan E. and LuJean Moss of the 18th Ward in the Orem Stake and Sheryl Sharp, daughter of Milton and Helen Sharp of the 38th Ward, Sharon Stake, will share the responsibilities of providing top quality assemblies next year. Blaine is an Eagle Scout, a member of the OHS Tennis team and the Symphonic Band. Sheryl has been a Sophomore and Junior Varisty Cheerleader, maintains a 4.0 GPA and is listed in Who's Who among American High School Students. Both Sheryl and Blaine will perform with Orem's Acapella Choir next year. The advisor to the council next year will be Todd Packer. Ray Louder serves as the Principal to the Orem High Seminary. Johnson of Orem, Utah, has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal in Kirch-Goens, West Germany. The Achievement Medal is awarded to soldiers for meritorious service, acts of courage, or other accomplishments. Johnson is a medical specialist with the 3rd Armored Division.
