Show r - Senior Citizen Center Activities Outlined A full week of activities is scheduled at the Orem Senior Center beginning with a matinee dance on Tuesday featuring a new musical group, the Hitch Hikers. They will play every Tuesday at noon instead of the previously announced Monday. Orem seniors going on the Hawiian trip are reminded to be at the center Monday morning, January 16th at 5:30 a.m. where they will meet their traveling companions for a delightful trip touring the islands. Also scheduled for February 27 through February 29th is the "Winter-Wonderland "Winter-Wonderland Trip to Yellowstone Park". Fathers Help At School - The students in Mrs. Nichols' first grade at Hillcrest School enjoy an activity that requires many helping hands. Melanie Farrington, Mr. Van Tassell and Amy Ford are shown, 1-r, working on a project made of graham crackers, frosting and lots of candy. Mr. Van Tassell, a father of one of the students, enjoyed participating in the project. The finished product was a candy house. ayne Terry Named New Wasatch Hospital Administrator 'extremely pleased to attract a man which such an excellent background," said Beck. - Wayne T. Terry was born and raised in Utah County and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1965. He began his hospital career that same year as Manager of Employment Services at LDS Hospital. In 1973 he came to Utah Valley Hospital as Director of Human Resources and served in that capacity until his appointment as Assistant Administrator in 1979. During this time Terry studied again at Brigham Young University to earn a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Also, he has been an instructor in business and personnel Wayne T. Terry of Orem, Assistant Administrator at Utah Valley Hospital for the past four years, has been appointed to the post of Administrator of Wasatch County Hospital in Heber City. The announcement came from Eugene Beck, Vice President, In-termountain In-termountain Health Care, Inc., the Salt Lake based corporation which leases and manages the 40 bed Wasatch Hospital. Mr. Terry will assume his new role in early January, according to Beck, who praised Terry as an experienced, outstanding administrator, well qualified in every respect. A blood pressure clinic will be held Wednesday right after lunch, and the musical group, Papa's Parlor Pickers will play that day for the matinee dance. Thursday's matinee dance will feature the Orem Harmonica Band and on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m. the Ceramics class will be held. For rem A new building designed to relieve space demands for classroms and administrative offices of-fices is currently in the planning stages for the Orem campus of Utah Technical College at ProvoOrem. Health technology coursesparticularly coursespar-ticularly nursing programs such as the licensed practical nursing, natural sciences and a, mock-hospital, mock-hospital, will be housed on the second floor of the building. This will provide classroom, lab and office space which is currently on the Provo campus. ; Administrative needs such as registration, financial aids, business office, purchasing, public relations, evening school office and Presidential Presiden-tial offices will be included on both the first and second floors. ; . The basement will be initially unfinished and used for storage until other space requirements are expressed. ex-pressed. Total square footage will be 50,000 and the building will serve as the main entrance to the campus. The buiding was funded by the 1933 legislature and will have similar architecture ar-chitecture as other buildings on the Orem campus. Architectual firm Tom Zabriskie and Associates of Salt Lake City designed the project. The building will be joined to the existing Business Building's West door. Also included in the project will be the addition of 172 parking spaces and landscaping. Projected completion date for the project is January 1986 and will provide space on the total Orem campus for 45 of the studentbody. The Provo campus will be used for expanded programs, particularly par-ticularly in the Electronics field, which has become an integral part of the curriculum through student demand. Former Police Chief Heads 1984 Flood Task Force Larry Lunnen, former Orem Chief of Police, has been appointed by Gov. Scott M. Matheson to head the newly created 'The Flood of '84 Task Force.' Lunnen regularly serves as commissioner of the Utah Department Depart-ment of Public Safety. Purpose of the task force is to coordinate efforts to fight the flooding expected this year in various parts of the state. Nearly 100 people are expected ex-pected to serve on the task force. The governor has already gone on record in favor of keeping Lake Thistle This-tle drained, lowering the level of Utah Lake and the southern arm of The Great Salt Lake.
