It can help a student successfully complete the LDS Genealogical Department's accreditation examination or can simply increase the student's knowledge and skills in genealogy. They have been given responsibility for such tasks as: ordering and receiving books, periodicals, and other library materials . performing basic cataloging routines supervising circulation procedures providing basic reference services for library users supervising interlibrary loan operations using and maintaining audio-visual equipment operating computer equipment to record and retrieve information producing displays maintaining budget, catalog, and other complex records Modern libraries offer a variety of paraprofessional opportunities oppor-tunities for the individual who is trained In the procedural operations unique to these institutions. Traval-Tourlsm Associate of Science Degree The travel-tourism program is designed to provide a background for those who wish to pursue careers in the travel field, particularly in travel offices, travel councils, chambers of commerce, public carriers, oil companies.and other travel-related industries. University Studios Associate of Arts Degree Students may select an area of concentration from any combination of colleges and departments to specifically design an associate degree that meets their particular needs.
