She is presently teaching English and Creative Writing at Pleasant Grove High School. Mr. Mietchen graduated fron Granger High School and attended Snow College. He will graduate this year fromWestminister College Col-lege in SLC. He was active in various athletic organizations in high school. He was a member of the varsity basketball team at both Snow and Westminister. Mrs. Orem Women's Club Holds May Breakfast The Orem Women's Club hold its annual May Breakfast May 17, at 10: a.m. at the Chuck A' Rama in Orem. Conduction the meeting was Mary Robertson President. Madge Thorn gave the opening prayer and the blessing on the food. Cleo Buchannan introduced the new members they are: Utah ma McKnignt, Dorathy Rasmussen, Fern Carter, Ruth Prestgard, Evelyn Nimer, Nola Briggs and Dora Dimick. Lorna Maycock gave a short resume of the accomplishments of the club during the last 30 years. It was organized April 4, 1945. The 1st year programs followed the theme of the Federated Fed-erated Clubs for the year "Our American Home". The 1st project was a piano for the lounge of the Scera Theater where the club has met since being organized. The 2nd project was to get -an Art Dept. started at Lincoln High School. A float for the 100th Birthday Birth-day of the Pioneers was the nest project which won a $20 prize. Seven tons of food and clothing cloth-ing were gathered to send to a city in Greece, a fireplace for Scera, lights for the Tennis ' Courts, water fountain in front of the Scera Theater, lockers for the swimming pool and since 1971 a $100 scholarship for the outstanding artist at Orom High who wants to further his or Orem Student Named Best Dixie Actor The Dixie Colleve Theatre Department De-partment and Delta Psi Omega Drama Fraternity hosted the annual an-nual Theatre Awards Banquet Tuesday evening, May 6, in the Dixie College Sun Room. Master of cermonies for the gala affair was Delta Psi Omega president, Luis Ballow. A scaled scal-ed down version of the Academy Awards or Tony Awards ceremonies, cere-monies, the banquet is held each year at Dixie College to recognize rec-ognize excellence in acting and technical theatre. Nominees are selected for awards by a Theatre Council composed of theatre patrons, pa-trons, students and participants. Receiving the award for Best Actor was Duane Tuft, of Orem for his performance as Mel in "Prisoner of Second Avenue." Others receiving nominations were, Joyce Ruesch, Sue Anno Basile, Nancy Brinkerhoff and Anna Walunas. Best Supporting Actor went to Ron Pepperman of Kamas City, Missouri, for the role of Richard in "The Lion in Wintt-r." Other nominees in this category were Luis Ballow, Phil Moore, Lee Stokes, Scott McArthur and Matt Jacobson. The Best Supporting Aress Award was presented to Nancy Bringhurst of Novato, California, for her portrayal of Madame Arcati in "Blithe Spirit." Other nominees were Valorie Smith, Dana Costo, Anna Walunas and Trish Turner. This year's Best Cameo Role Award went to Laurie McMtillin of Salt Lake City, as Edith in ."Blithe Spirit." Other nominees were Brad Blackham, Dave Fir- mage and Maurine McCurdy. Dr. C. Steele. A reception honoring the couple will be held this evening in the Orem South Stake Center. A wedding breakfast was held at the home of bridegroom's parents par-ents following the ceremony. Parents of the newlyweds are Dr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Allred and Mr. and Mrs. R. Que Steele, all of Orem. The bride will wear a gown of polyester satin with a tiered overskirt of Chantilly lace. The lace, touched with seed pearls, accents the yoke and cuffs. The full-length veil is of bridal illusion il-lusion edged with lace and attached at-tached to a beaded headpiece.
