To Install New Lines Mountain Bell will install 5,460 new local telephone lines and install in-stall long distance switching equipment this year in its Provo central offices as part of the company's com-pany's program to anticipate the needs of Utah telephone users and have service ready when it is needed, according to Merrill Hyinas, Provo district manager. Hymas noted that other Utah County projects included in this year's budget are a building addition addi-tion to Mountain Bells'American Fork office, addit ional truck lines for Lehi and Springville, and the installation of new lines in Plea sant Grove, Payson and Spanish ork. He said the building prograuiis necessary to serve not only new customers, but to also keep pace with the increased calling demand from existing customers. The Proo project includes the addition of power equipment as well as long distance switching switch-ing equipment. The equipment will be housed in the addition currently under construction at 75 East 100 North. Once installed, all long distance calls from Utah. Spellman, chairman, Scout Cookie Sale Set March 14-22 The Girl Scout Cookie Sale, like the beginnings of spring, is taking place throughout the State of Utah and White Pine County, Nevada, March 14-22. "This year's sale is featuing a new taste treat, Sesame Crisp Crackers, to add to our sales appeal," said Mrs. Ruth Olson, District VI Cookie Chairman. Mrs. Fred Noakes, Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos Neighborhood Cookie Chairman, Chair-man, is entertaining troop cookie chairmen in Orem with training and tasting Lemon C re mes, Oxford Ox-ford Cremes, Soct-teas, Savannahs Savan-nahs and Mints. While the cost of sugar has increased 300 percent per-cent this year, reflecting a 25 per cent increase in price. Both Mrs. Olson and Mrs. Noakes were honored guests at the Annual Cookie luncheon held March 1 at the Ambassador Club in Salt Lake City. Mr. Martin Quinn, sales representative from Burry Biscuit, division of the Quaker Oats Company, hosted the luncheon and presented the sales aids. While orders will be taken in March, delivery will take place April 18-22. E mphasis will be on the door-to-door, neighbor-to-neighbor sale, though Cadettes and Senior Girl Scouts will also be selling at many banks, markets mar-kets and shopping malls throughout through-out the Council territory. Girl scouts traditonally work together to support their program andall profits from Girl Scout cookies go either directly to the troop or to help support the camps enjoyed en-joyed by all. Now, as always, Girl Scout cookies are a positive way for everyone to help Scouts help themselves. Last year's cookie money was used to install a telephone at Trefoil Ranch, wire electricity at Camp Cloud Rim, heat the infirmary at Camp Cloud Rim, build horse feeding mangers at ; Trefoil Ranch as well as a storage stor-age house and a frame for the ice skating rink, and winterize the lodges at both Camp Red Cliffe and Trefoil Ranch. TEN-YEAR-old Martha (Mardy) Castillo of Layton, a victim vic-tim of Muscular Dystrophy, has been selected as the Easter Seal child for Utah. Mardy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jose Castillo of -Layton. Martha, who' is confined to a wheelchair, .is a 4 th grade pu pil at Whitewide elementary school in Layton. Her prime interest is music and she is a flutist. Although her physical activities activi-ties are limited, Martha has attended the Easter Seal summer sum-mer camp in Grand Mesa, Colorado, Colo-rado, thanks to the Utah Easter Seal Society, and has expressed hope that "we'll have our own camp in Utah someday soon. She is one of 12 children of Mr. -and Mrs. Jose Castillo. Ten-year-old Martha (Mardy) ' M. Warner Murphy, Vice President Pres-ident of Commercial Secuity Bank and Manager of the Utah County Division, has announced the promotion of Jay E. Lewis to the position of Assistant Vice President of the bank and Manager Man-ager of the Provo Office. Mr. Lewis will replace Marvin Mar-vin H. Burgon who is retiring following more than seventeen years of service to banking in Utah County. . Mr. Lewis started his banking career four years ago with the Orem State Bank which merged with Commercial Security Bank this past summer. Soon after the merger, Commercial Security Secur-ity Bank established an office in Provo and appointed Mr. Lewis as Assistant Manager. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Earl Lewis of Provo and is married to the former Pamela Kane, also of Provo.: They are the parents-of three children. Mr. Lewis is a 1961 graduate of Provo HighSchool and received his Bachelors degree inBusiness Management from Brigham Young University on 1969. He also graduated from the 1973 National Installment Credit School at the University of Oklahoma. Ok-lahoma. He is currently serving his fellow bankers as President of the Utah County Chapter of the American Institute of Banking. Active in civic and church affairs, af-fairs, he is a member of the Ki-wanis Ki-wanis Club and Treasurer of the Provo Chamber of Commerce. He filled an L.D.S.
