Roene Difiore Left Homeless After Blaze When fire destroyed an early poineer home in Washington County January 4 it marked the end of an historic era and the beginning of a widerangefund raising project that will doubtless doubt-less find a place in history as well. Located in the small community commu-nity of Washington, Utah, the old 1 adobe structure was 1 originally j built for Isreal Neilson in the early days of the Cotton Mission in the 1860's. An addition was : made along the south side of the home a few years later to house a store which was closed whenthe Silver Reef boom died out around . 1900. At the time of the fire, the home was occupied by a great grand-daughter o f Neilson, and one of Dixie's most popular personalities, per-sonalities, Mrs. Roene B. Di-Fiore. Di-Fiore. Mrs. DiFiore is well . known throughout Utah for her musical association with Dixie College Program Bureau under her direction. Although most of the personal items inside the home were saved from the blaze by prompt action of the local volunteer fire department, de-partment, friends, and neighbors, Mrs. DiFiore and her mother, who resided with her, have been left homeless. A group of devoted de-voted friends, neighbors, colleagues, collea-gues, and students have united to raise money to build the women a new home. Recent meetings have been organized involving in-volving representatives of Dixie College, the communities of Washington and St. George, the Washington wards of the LDS 10TH NORTH 4TH WEST AMERICAN FORK, UTAH 756-7477 377-6555 on-site phones EXCLUSIVE COUNTRY LIVING Away from it all yet close to everything OPEN HOUSE: 1-6 Except Sunday Iff .fMj.,; A l- ' - l v V X -- ....
