Seastrand President Gareth Seastrand will be the special guest speaker at the Orem West Stake M-Men and Cleaner Fireside to be held Sunday, Jan. 23 at 8:30 p.m. in the 9th and 28th Ward Chapel, 590 N. 900 W., Orem. President Seastrand was born in American Fork, Utah. He served in the Navy for three years. Later he graduated with a masters degree from BYU. He is now director of Elementary. Education in Alpine School District. Dis-trict. He also has served as secretary, counselor and president in the Deacon's Quorum. He ran the Colorado River in 1970. His scout leader is Norm Mackey. Tod attends Lincoln Junior High. Louis Scott is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Louis B. Cardon. A member of Troop 429 of Orfm 29th Ward, he has served as patrol leader and at present is the troop bugler, and is junior assistant scoutmaster. He has been in the DeaconQuorum presidency. pres-idency. His present scoutmaster scoutmas-ter is Dean Benson and he also junior at Orem High. A son of Mr. and, Mrs. Alan Keller, Mark is a member of Troop 181 of Orem 15th Ward. He has served as senior patrol leader and has assisted with the Webelo Den. He also has served as Deacon's Quorum president. He is in ninth grade at Lincoln Junior High. His scoutmaster is Norman Mackay. Michael and Allen are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Patch and both are members of Troop 181. Michael has served as scribe and patrol leader and president of Deacon's Quorum. He also played Little League Baseball. Allen has served as Deacon's Quorum president and secretary of the Teacher's Quorum. He also served as patrol leader and instructor in the scout troop. He is an honor student at Lincoln Junior High. served under Kent LeeMaster. He is an honor student atLJHS Utah Tech Adds and is on the school news staff. He is a member of Troop 435 of the Orem 35th Ward and has served as troop leader, senior patrol leader, secretary and president of the Deacon's Quorum. In the ninth grade at LJHS, he is devotional de-votional vice president of his seminary class. Prior to scouting scout-ing age, Douglas lived in East Moline, ILL and was born in Augusta, Georgia. Phillip is the son of Mildred Zobell and the late Owen Zobell. He is a member of Explorer Post 34 in the Lake View Ward and is a member of the Priest's Quorum. Grant Cook, chairman of the general education department, today announced the third mobile classroom trailer to be utilized by the college this one for "pre-technical "pre-technical studies in subjects designed de-signed to prepare the student for the regular courses given on a college level by the school. The added mobile classrooms, made possible by special state and federal funds, are actually a stop-gap measure to provide badly-needed facilities for an overcrowded school until a new campus can be constructed at a site already owned by the state for that purpose in Orem. London -- Cardboard coffins have been suggested by English paper manufacturers as a new use for recycled paper. Resource Re-source managers are interested. Funeral service mangers in London are not Impressed with the cardboard coffin idea and said they must do everything to maintain standards of dignity and respect. They apparently feel cardboard coffins would lower the standards of funerals not to mention the price. Recycling paper is a practical approach to improving man's environment en-vironment and conserving natural nat-ural resources used to produce new paper. Developing new markets mar-kets for recycled paper is essential, es-sential, according to natural resource re-source specialists. Mrs. Helen Hawkins, crusade chairman for Spanish Fork will accompany Mrs. Berrett. These ladies were selected to represent the Utah County unit because of their long tenure and association as volunteers volun-teers for the cancer society. Both ladies have always shown a willingness and strong desire to be of service in their communities, com-munities, said Mr. Tuckett.
