Mr. Reich-man Reich-man will discuss perennials and annuals, their selection, use and care. Mr. Reichman will have slides to accompany his discussion. Mrs. Paul Ferguson will give a short report on "Effects of Air Pollution on Plants in Utah given by Dr. I. B. McMulty at the State Garden CluUConvention. Miss Wilde Is a graduate of Orem High School and Is now a junior at Brigham Young University. Univer-sity. At the high school she belonged be-longed to Quill andScroll,Tiger-ettes andScroll,Tiger-ettes and A Cappella Choir. Mr. Muhlestein is also an Orem High School graduate and junior at BYU where he is a member of the gymnastics team. He was a member of Sapere Aude and Quill and Scroll at the Orem school. They will live in Provo while both continue their education at BYU, CHIEFS PARENTS ATTEND ' DSA UNDERCOVER As the 'Young Man of the Year", Larry Lunnen, was introduced intro-duced at the DSA banquet, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Lunnen, Lun-nen, from Salt Lake City, rushed from their hiding place to greet him. Emotions of pride and humility humil-ity were visible as Mrs. Lunnen embraced her only son. The parents par-ents had been in attendance throughout the meeting hidden behind a folding screen with oneway one-way glass. Mrs. LaMai" Gagon (Kay Byard) Couple Honored At Reception Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Gagon (Kay Byard) greeted friends at a beautifully arranged reception Friday evening January 28 in the Orem 3rd-21st Ward Chapel, following fol-lowing their marriage in the Salt Lake Temple which took place Thursday January 21. Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Rex 'J" Byard of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gagon of Provo. For her colors, the bride chose green, white and silver. The bridal gown of white de-lustered de-lustered taffeta was elegant with its detachable chapel train. The shimmering skirt beneath was of white tafeta and rows of lace inserts. in-serts. The fitted bodice also displayed a lace insert. The bridal brid-al bouquet was a large white orchid, or-chid, surrounded by Gardlnias. Ann Young served as maid of honor with Diane Hedsted, Sher-rle Sher-rle Gagon, and Lorraine Trout as bridesmaids. Junior Bridesmaid Brides-maid was Sydney Gagon. Robert Gagon performed duties as best man. The young couple are honeymooning honey-mooning in Southern California. They will return to make their home in Orem. Pre-nuptial'. showers were given giv-en by Mrs. Leslie Sessions, aunt of the bride; Judy Openshaw and Joan Miller and by Ann Young, Sherrie Gagon and Faye Gagon. Four County Girls, In Jr. Miss Contest Four Utah County girls have been named as semi-finalists in Utah Junior Miss Pageant and will compete in semi-finals Friday, Fri-day, February 4 in Salt Lake City. They are Rebecca Huish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huish, Orem; Mary Ellen Hales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hales, Provo; Marilyn Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hughes, Spanish Fork, and Nancy Ellen Holt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Holt of Payson. Final judging will be Saturday evening when scholarships and prizes totaling nearly $4000 will be awarded, The winner will compete com-pete in the Junior Miss Pageant in Mobile, Alabama. Muhlestein Muhle-stein of Orem announces the engagement en-gagement of their daughter Nyla, to James Emil Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Jensen of Brigham City. They will exchange vows March 18 in the Logan LDS Temple, and be honored the same evening in the Orem 12th Ward Hall. Miss Muhlestein is a graduate of Box Elder High School in Brigham City and also attended Orem High School. She is now a student at Utah State University. Mr. Jensen is a graduate of Box Elder High, has attended USU and is now attending Weber State College. He fulfilled a Bu-verian Bu-verian Mission for the L.D.S. Church. He is also employed in Ogden. The couple will make their home in Ogden while Mr. Jensen onmQletes his schooling. P.T.A. MEETINGS SCHEDULED TONIGHT The Geneva Elementary School P.T.A. will hold a special meeting meet-ing Tonight, Thursday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. The School Bond issue will be discussed and a Nominating committee that will nominate the new officers for next year will be introduced. Refreshments will be served. Golden Gleaners Award Received By Mrs. Richards Donna Richards was presented her Golden Gleaner Award by Christine Jolley, Sharon Stake Y.W.M.I.A. Pres. at a recent Sacrament Meeting of the Orem 12th Ward. Donna Is the daughter of Mrs. Ima Wilde of Oakley, Utah. She Is the wife of Arnold Richards, anc the mother of two daughters, RaShell and RaLyn. She filled the requirements for her award while living in the Oakley Ward, So. Summit Stake; B.Y.U. 1st Ward, 3rd Stake; and Orem 12th Ward, Sharon Stake. At the present time she is teaching the MIA Maids, a visiting visit-ing teacher, and a member of the Ward Choir and Singing Mothers. Olesca Club Holds Meeting Olesca Literary Club members met recently at the home of Mrs. Max Curtis. Mrs. Jack Childress was co-hostess and Mrs. Paul Washburn conducted the business meeting. Guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Kay Smith from the Brigham Young University who discussed 'Personal Adjust ments.1' Dr. Smith stated, "The biggest problem is we do not feel we are as adjusted as we would like to be. We see ourselves our-selves reflected in the actions of other people. Become more trust worthy, then you can be your self. Don't disguise the truth, be genuine.
