Show Lincoln Beacon August 31, Sept 4 by Danna Wankler The 1964-65 school year began be-gan at Lincoln Jr. High School Monday, August 31. "Hello World" was the theme chosen by the student council for the traditional Hi Week. The halls and showcases were appropriately appropri-ately decorated, i Orientation was held Monday Mon-day and regular classwork began be-gan Tuesday. Talks about various parts of the world will be given over the intercom system by members of ths student stu-dent council during the week. Thursday after school the student stu-dent council will greet all new students to the area at a reception. rece-ption. Light refreshments will be served. On Friday a matinee mat-inee dance will be held for ea-ch grade. The students heading this year's student government are: Studentbody Officers-President, Officers-President, John VanDorn; Vice President Karen Goode; Secretary, Sharl Hulsh; Program Pro-gram Chairman, Pat Oveson; Radio Reporter, Karen Clark; Historian, M e r y Bellows; News Reporter, Danna Wankler; Wank-ler; Student Council Advisor, Herbert Stratton. . Ninth Grade Officers President, Kirk Anderson, Vice President, Julie Bandley; Secretary, Marlon Rowley. Eighth Grade Officers President, Steve Rawlings; Vice President, Todd Huish; Secretary, JiU Talyor. The seventh graae elections will be held In the near future. As the school year began there were mixed emotions among these students. Many were bubbling over with excitement. On the other hand there were students who couldn't wait to get out for the day. Many new teachers have joined us this year. We lost several good teachers last year, but it has been made up by the fine replacements we have. Watch htls column for future articles on teachers.
