AN ORDINANCE AMEND-1NG AMEND-1NG ORDINANCE NO. 62, PASSED MARCH 30, 1964, AND ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING RE-PEALING TITLE 5 OR REVISED ORDINANCES OF OREM CITY, UTAH 1959, AND ALL ORDINANCES ORDIN-ANCES RELATIVE TO THE CEMETERY OF OREM CITY; PROVIDING ' DEFINITIONS OF TERMS; CREATING THE OFFICE . OF CITY SEXTON; FIXING FIX-ING RES POSSIBILITIES AND DUTIES of the SEXTON, SEX-TON, THE CITY TREASURER, TREA-SURER, AND OWNERS OF BURIAL SPACES '. AND LOTS RELATIVE TO THE CITY CEMETERY;; CEME-TERY;; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR MAINTENANCE AND CARE BY RESOLUTION. OF OREM CITY COUNCIL; COUN-CIL; AND HEREIN ESTABLISHING ES-TABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE MAINTENANCE, CARE AND OPERATION OF OREM CITY CEMETERY: CEME-TERY: PROVIDING FOR DETERMINATIONS OF PRICES AND FEES FOR BURIAL SPACES. AND LOTS BY RESOLUTION OF OREM CITY COUNCIL; COUN-CIL; ESTABLISHMENT OF PERPETUAL CARE TRUST FUND AND THE ADMINISTRATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING PRO-VIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE' . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF OREM :CITY, UTAH: ; SECTION ONE. That Sec-Hlon Sec-Hlon 24, which appear in Ordinance Ord-inance No. 62 which was pass-de pass-de toy the Orem . C o uncil March 30, 1964, be and the same is hereby amended to s-ead as follows: .Section 24. PLACEMENT OF MARKERS. It shall .be unlawful un-lawful for any person to erect or place or cause to be placed any marker or markers on any lot In said cemetery unless the same is placed on a good concrete foundation six inches deep or deeper, and such marker shall be placed or erected under the supervision of the City Sexton; and all such markers so placed In said cemetery must also be placed plac-ed -flush with the lawn in those areas provided for flush monuments as directed toy the City Sexton as such areas are chosen by the City Manager and the Sexton with a the advice and consent con-sent of the City Council. The markers must be securely set in a cement foundation and with a cement lawn strip cot less than seven inches wide around such marker. There shall be no other monuments or other structures struct-ures placed upon any lot or lots, except as provided in Section 25. SECTION TWO. INTENT. The intent of the framers of this ordinance Is that the titles shown at the beginning of any section or subsection of this ordinance shall not be deemed deem-ed to construe the meaning or content of such a section or subsection or any other section or subsection, but are provided provid-ed solely for the facility and convenience of locating infdr-nurtion infdr-nurtion within the ordinance. SECTION THREE. INVALIDITY. INVAL-IDITY. If any part of this ordinance ord-inance shall he held invalid, such decision shall not effect the validity of the remainder of the ordinance. SECTION FOUR. CONFLICT CON-FLICT OF LAW. All ordinan-ances ordinan-ances or parts of ordinances In conflict with this title are hereby ' repealed. SECTION FIVE. SECTION SIX. EMERGENCY EMERGE-NCY EXISTS. An emergency existing, and it being deemed necessary by the City Council of Orem City, in the interest of the immediate preservation of the peace, health, safety, and welfare of Orem City and its inhabitants ,that this ordinance ordin-ance shall take effect immediately im-mediately upon its passage and publication, it is, therefore, hereby ordered that this ordinance ordin-ance shall take effect im mediately upon its passage and publication. SECTION SEVEN. PUBLI CATION. It is hereby ordered and provided that this ordin ance shall be published once in the Orem-Geneva Times, a newspaper published in Orem City, Utah County, Utah. There were 68 in attendance. Mrs. William Bledsoe acted as mistress of ceremonies and introduced mothers, daughters and guests. The after - dinner program featured a piano solo, "The Elevator," by Susan Nyman. Mrs. Arthur Holloman and daughters daught-ers Cheryl and Leslie combined combin-ed their vocal talents for "That Wonderful Mother of Mine." The presentation of flowers has been a tradition since the-Mother the-Mother - Daughter banquets-were banquets-were first begun in 1958. This year, corsages were awarded to the youngest mother; Mrs. DyAnn Langager; the oldest mother Mrs. Rowena Hanks; mother with the most daughters daugh-ters present, Mrs. Mona Brandt; mother with the most daughters, Mrs. Bemice Me Kenzie; the youngest Grandmother, Grand-mother, Mrs. Lynn Peterson and the mother that came the fartherest, Mrs. Ramona Rarth- bun from Minnesota.
