Show f Sports- I Seeing With Dean " To this point, the Utah football foot-ball teams don't have the 'best of marks unless you take a good look at Weber State College. Col-lege. The Weber eleven has done right well to hold up the Beehive state football laurels by winning their first three games. Utah State has that big win over Arizona1, but then Host to Wyoming, and both Old Glenmore Silver Label J I p. m i r : Swiff (tjt I Glcniiiorc I Utah Valley Distributors 673 N. State, Orem, Ph. Dries Better Because It's Flameless. Sunshine-pure Sunshine-pure electric heat keeps white clothes whiter, colored fabrics brighter. There is less fading. Clothes dried flamelessly last longer too, keep that "new" look week after week. Clothes come sweeter smelling, more soft and fluffy with clean-as-light electric heat. No wonder more than 4 out of 5 homes with automatic dryers in this area have electric models. Only flameless electricity can do your complete laundry job! UTAH POWER & LIGHT CO. A lot of people have asked where that outstanding football foot-ball team is at BYU this year. Coach Mitchell said he would have a good team, sports writers writ-ers and reporters said the Cougars Cou-gars would be good, they were KENTUCKY h STEAIG-HT BOUEBON WHISKEY 86 PROOF 6 YEARS OLD itcmmit wnutRia a. The list is very impressive. But actually, when you look at it, the eager ones havent't read the smallest print that goes with such statements. Nearly everyone qua lified their statement about BYU by saying that the Cougars would be late-bloomers, that the early ear-ly games would find them too young, too inexperienced to expect much of. As happened last year, the second half cf the season ought to be BYU's best. Tha Cougars looked much better in their second game than they did in the go-round at Kansas State. And let it be said here and now, Jim LaRue at Arizona Ari-zona has the ball club he said he had earlier. His loss, 42-0 to Utah State, can be explained explain-ed away by first game excuses. But Jim had no excuses. They just weren't ready for Utah State, that's all. Right now, the spotlight is shinning brightly on Wyoming which will give the often favorites fav-orites a chance to sit back and quietly go to work. Thi s is what happened at Laramie. Utah is stronger than most thought. We said watch out for the Utes. They will be late comers like BYU, and ii injuries injur-ies don't cut into their already thin ranks, could prove tough. We liked the revamping ot the Utah high schools, schedul ing a few of the large schools as "A" class schools instead of "B" schools. This will give new blood and new life to tne A ranks and will open up the way for some of the put-upon smaller schools to gain their rightful glory in state competition. com-petition. The gathering of American Fork, Judge Memorial, Uintah, and Pleasant Grove into the "A" ranks will definitely put a new emphasis on the "A" schools. There are too few schools now to play a good, well rounded in the "A"s. Now. all we can look for is the B schools to schedule their state basketball finals at St. Georee or Cedar Citv in one of the college gyms there. The A schools are concentrated Drimarilv in the north cart of Utah, the B schools in the southern area. Someone. someday, is surely going to get the idea of a tournament down south.
