Show STATE -COUNTY SAVINGS BONDS SALES CONTINUE TO RUN AHEAD OF LAST YEAR Purchases of series E and H savings bonds in Utah during the first five months of I960 are continuing con-tinuing to run ahead of those for the same pen.'od of 1959, it was announced today by Frederick P. Champ, state savings bonds chairman. chair-man. Purchases during May were $1,472,486, bringing the total for the year to date to $7,912,044. "With over 2300 new 'payroll savers' already signed up as a direct di-rect result of the Treasury-Industry campaign headed by state payroll savings chairman, Lawrence F. Black, and with many company drives yet to be concluded,' future monthly sales should show a material ma-terial increase," Mr. Champ said. W. R. Anderson, Bingham District Dis-trict bond chairman, reported that purchases'of E and H savings bonds in Salt Lake county during May were $524,673.00, with total purchases pur-chases for the five months of I960 amounting .to $3,054,457.00, or 38.9 per cent of the county's I960 sales ' goal. |
