Christian Science Topic for Sunday Why the spiritual qualities of, honesty, unselfishness, and obedience obedi-ence are important to an unaer-standing unaer-standing of Truth will be brought out at Christian Science services Sunday. Scriptural selections to be read in the Lesson-Sermon entitled "Truth" will include Jesus' parable par-able of the sower and his explanation ex-planation of its meaning for his disciples (Luke 8). Among the correlative passages to be read from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Scrip-tures" by Mary Baker Eddy is the following (272:3-8): "The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. un-derstood. This sense is assimilated assimilat-ed only as we are honest, unselfish, unself-ish, loving and meek. In the soil of an 'honest and good heart the seed must be sown; else it bear-eth bear-eth not much fruit, for the swin-!ish swin-!ish element in human nature uproots up-roots it." I The Golden Text is from Psalms (86:15): "Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous plen-teous in mercy and truth." PLANS UNDERWAY FOR OREM STAKE FATHERS AND SONS BANQUET Plans are going forward for the annual Orem Stake Aaronic priesthood fathers arid sons banquet ban-quet under the chairmanship of Reed Burgener. Tentative date for the banquet has been set for Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Timpanogos Stakehouse in Pleasant Grove. Attending will be Aaronic priesthood members under 21 and their fathers. JANUARY gardless of the answers to these questions, Jesus believed in them and praised them. He spoke to them of their worth to God. A popular novelist tells the story of a man who for many years professed atheism. In ill-J ness, near the end of his life, I he was still clutching his atheism and boasting of his not believing in God. Then his daughter remarked re-marked to him, almost casually, "What does it matter that you do not believe in God? He believes in you!" He had not seen it that way before. Soon he was gloriously glorious-ly converted.
