Slates Diamond Jubilee Parade ' The Orem Stake Primary will commemorate the organization of the Primary 75 years ago when they stage a Diamond Jubilee Parade on Thursday, August 13 t 6 p.m. at the Lincoln High school football field. k The theme of the affair will be "From a Little Rock Church to All the World." The parade will be under the direction of Mrs, Alta Rowley, Thelda Harris and Luzon Crosby, stake Primary presidency, with each ward rep resented In the procession. 1 Participating in the parade will be the following wards, depicting de-picting phases of Primary work and nations where Primary meet ings are held: Timp View, First Primary military band, Scandin avia; Beverly, Spring Festivals, the Children's Hospital, "Hurrah for Primary"; Vineyard, Primary operettas, the Children's Friend, Mia Maids and Explorers to Hold Outing Sharon Stake MIA Maids and Explorers will hold a joint outing, out-ing, Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Scera picnic grounds according to Jesse Asay and Ilene Olson, stake Explorer Ex-plorer and MIA Maid leaders. Volleyball and other games of sociability will be enjoyed. Every-! one is to bring their own picnic, with the stake organization furnishing fur-nishing the punch. Winners of the tourney will enter the all-church tournament in Salt Lake City. Vineyard, Orem Stake' champion, champ-ion, was defeated by Provo Third Ward, Utah Stake title winner, by a score of 6 to 4. Lincoln Ward, Sharon Stake champ, lost to Man- avu Ward, Provo Stake winner, . 10 to 4. Provo 11th Ward had an' easy time defeating American Fork Fourth Ward, 11 to 0, while Wymount was 14 to 1 victor over Pleasant Grove 4th Ward. The grand champion of the Scera area will be determined next week when a single elimin ation tourney will be conducted every night next week at the Or em City softball park. Four top teams in the Orem and Sharon Stakes will compete for the coveted cov-eted title. They will be Vineyard, Windsor, Vermont and Geneva of Orem Stake; and Lincoln, Tlmp- anogos, Oak Hills and either Crest Vew or Lake View of the Sharon Stake. Also being planned is an all- star game slated for Aug. 15 which will feature the outstanding outstand-ing players of Orem Stake versus those of the Sharon Stake. The tilt will be played at 7:30 p.m. OREM BOYS PLAY AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL WITH PROVO Donald Marumoto and Jack Sumner are members of the Provo American Legion baseball team which will represent this district in the state meet at Provas Timp Park. Provo won the berth by trouncing Helper last Sunday at Helper, Donald was a member of the Lincoln High Tiger baseball squad last spring. He plays regular right field for the Provo nine. He la a junior at Lincoln this year.
