Hebertson to conduct a poster contest in conjunction with the forth-coming Christmas bazaar, Dec. 14 at Geneva school. Pupils of the fourth, fifth and sixth grades are eligible to enter the contest. NEWS ABOUT OUR SERVICEMEN TAKES RADIO TRAINING Pvt. Clive L. Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon L. Beck of Orem, is now receiving specialized special-ized training in the 7th Armored Division's Radio operators school at Camp Roberts, Calif. Pvt. Beck was chosen for his specialized training on the basis of aptitude and ability. SGT. GILLMAN PROMOTED Wendell W. Gillman, sergeant major of Headquarters. Utah Military District, Fort Douglas, Utah, has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant. U. S Army, it was announced today by Colonel William C. McFad-den, McFad-den, Acting Chief. Utah Military District. Sergeant Gillman, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gillman of Orem, entered the service in March, 1941 at Pleasant Grove. During World War U he served serv-ed two years in the European Theatre of operations where he earned four campaign stars in the battles for France. He returned re-turned to the United States and was separated from the service in October of 1945. He re-entered the Army in 1949 and after,acceptance In the regular Army, was assigned to Fort Douglas.
