Aiken, Mother of 13, Dies Here at 73 Funeral services for Mary Go'dmanson Aiken, 73, who died late Saturday after a lingering linger-ing illness, were conducted on Wednesday at the Timprnons ward chapel with Bishop M. D. Wallace of Lincoln ward in charge. Mrs. Aiken came to Orem In 1921 with her husband, the late Charles Henry Aiken, and has been active as a practical nurse, and in LDS church work, particularly par-ticularly 4 he Relief Society. She is the mother of 13 children, 11 of whom are living. Speakers at the funeral Wednesday Wed-nesday were Leo Poulson, Bishop Bish-op C. Wilford Larsen and Bishop M. D. Wallace. Prayer at the home preceding the service was by Roy Gappmayer, Invocation was by Robert M. Dowdle. Musical Mus-ical numbers included a vocal solo by Elvis B. Terry, a duet by the Patten sisters, and a solo by Moroni Jensen. A biography was presented by Mrs. Axel An-dreasen, An-dreasen, the benediction was pronounced by President Philo T. Edwards and the grave at the Provo Burial park was dedicated ded-icated by Axel Andreasen. Lu-Jean Lu-Jean O. Sundberg played the prelude and postlude. Funeral The Paul LeBaron family is vacationing in Canada. arrangements were by the Ol-pin Ol-pin Mortuary. Mrs. Aiken was born in Vash-naneigne Vash-naneigne Iceland, May 11, 1878, Johanna Harbardson Goodman-son. Goodman-son. She came to Utah with her parents on July 24, 1888 and settled in Spanish Fork. She attended Spanish Fork schools and spent most of her early life j there. I She married Charles Henry I Aiken, April 24, 1902, in Clear Creek (Carbon County.) They 1 moved to Canada in 1903 and j to Castle Dale in 1919, then to I Orem in 1929. Mr. Aiken died April 10, 1938. She leaves six sons and five daughters, Charles G. Aiken, Edwin M. Aiken, Mrs. Rulon (Kathleen) West, Mrs. Alfred (Fern) Carter, Mrs. F. Blaine (Eva) Rasmussen, and Mrs. Max (Edith) Pedersen, all of Orem; Leon Aiken, Provo; Wilford H. Aiken, Salt Lake City; Chester D. Aiken, Spanish Fork; Mrs-Robe Mrs-Robe r t (Hazel) Chapman, Springville; Leroy Whitmore, Ecorec, Mich.; 43 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. J. M. (Rebecca) (Rebec-ca) Davis, Orem; Mrs. Leo (Nena) Harmer, and Mrs. Jack (Ena) Carrick, Mapleton. 9 & Is? laJ Doors open 6 :C0 First Show 7:00 Friday and Saturday FALL FASHIONS fcHOWN AT STYLE SHOW Latest Fall fashions for the ladies and clothing for the youngsters were shown on Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the Geneva ni:Ool auditorium in a style .hew sponsored by the Orem Women's club and presented by Oem and Provo clothing stores. Mrs. Kent Anderson of Springville Spring-ville was the charming mistress of ceremonies and described each fashion as it was shown. Chairman for the event was i'.fi s. Neldon Marshall. Featured in the style show were clothes for every occasion from early morning to late evening even-ing dancing parties- A variety if suits, coats and dresses were shown, all with attractive matching match-ing accessories many of them suitable for the campus crowd-Youthful crowd-Youthful models wore school and party clothes for the younger young-er set. Light refreshments were served following the show by the club officers and committee members. Instrumental music was played play-ed during the style show by G. E. Childs, accompanied by Mrs. Thomas Griffiths- Several numbers num-bers wer sung during a short intermission by a ladies trio comprising Kathryn Todd, Gen-niel Gen-niel Dixon and Berdene Terry, accompanied by Raquel Bennett Local stores who were represented repres-ented in the show were Pen-ney's Pen-ney's Firmages, Castletons, Jan et's, Stevens, Macdonald's, Lew-:s Lew-:s Ladies Store, Baby Bunting, Sweetbriar, Beck's shoe store, Helen Swenson's fur salon and Fern's hat shop. Orem Couple i Married in ! Salt Lake Temple September 14 marked the marriage date in the Salt Lake LDS Temple of Faye Lunceford, 1 prominent Orem miss, to Harold George Muhlestein, son of Mr. and Mrs- George Muhlestein of Charleston. The evening of their wedding day, Mrs. Vernette P. Lunceford, Lunce-ford, the bride's mother, was hostess at a wedding reception honoring the pair at the Vineyard Vine-yard ward hall. . Mrs. R. H. Lunceford, a sister-in-law, attended the bride. Robert Rob-ert Alsen was best man for the bridegroom. The newlyweds are both graduates grad-uates of the Lincoln high school and Sharon seminary and have attended Brigham Young university. univ-ersity.
