Utah Symphony Slates Opening Concert Oct. 27 With the opening of the 1951-52 1951-52 Uta Symphony season just a little over a month away, interest in-terest is reaching a new high according to David S. Romney, managing director. The opening rehearsal has been slated for Monday, October 15 by Maestro Maurice Abrav-anel, Abrav-anel, who will return for his fifth season as conductor and musical director. The first concert con-cert is booked for Saturday, October 27 with Jan Peerce, the great Metropolitan Opera tenor as the first guest artist- He will be followed by such word famed performers as Ric-ardo Ric-ardo Odnoposoff, violinist; Kenneth Ken-neth Wolf, pianist; Grant Joh-annesen, Joh-annesen, pianist; Andor Foldes, pianist and the great Jascha Heifetz, violinist. In addition to the series of concerts in Salt Lake City which will be held in the Tabernacle, the orchestra again will play in Ogden, Provo, Logan, Cedar City and ither cities, according to Mr. Romney. The tour schedule sched-ule is now being arranged. More than 1400 tickets already al-ready have been sold for the Salt Lake series and fans are urged to send in reservations as soon as possible to be assured good seats.
