More than a decade ago, a group of Lehi townsmen united i a nrnipct to brine big time rodeo to Utah Valley. The task! was a big one; thousands of dollars doll-ars were needed to provide the extensive facilities for the staging stag-ing of shows of this kind. Like any other public-supported enterprize, this adventure in mass entertainment has had i s ups and downs; but for me riost part has been surprisingly successful. Lehi has always been noted for keen devotion to the stren uous sports. The writer well recalls re-calls her famous baseball team cf the old Central Utah League; Mid the Mannings', the Colleges', end the Holms. eads' that played n the same. Basketball has been an extremely ex-tremely popular activity in this Nor h Utah Valley community s;nce the advent of the game n the early nineteen-hundreds. Such luminaries of the Evans', thp Rmuins'. the Clark's, and the Roberts' will live long in the memories of the townsfolk. The celebration. this year will f pat 11 re the usual high-quality parades, public gatherings, and carnival attractions, ine citizens ino all-out to provide the type of hospitality and enter tainment that has made tnese annual an-nual celebrations famous. For tho hpst in rodeo .rjerformances, don't miss the Lehi Round-Up. This column loins with resid ents of the Utah Valley communities comm-unities in wishing Lehi the best of luck in this annual fiesta.
