The M Men and Gleaners hed a fireside chat on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Doman. Willard Gerber told of his vacation spent in California and showed colored slides of many beautiful scenes ne tooK while there. The ward officers are making plans and preparations for the annual ward Carnival. Each association ass-ociation will sponsor a booth. All proceeds wil eo to the Wei. fare Farm. No Sunday School or Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting will be held in the ward because of general confer ence on Sunday. The ward choir has started holding nractices on Mnndav evenings after Priesthood meet ing. All ward members inter ested in singins are invited to join the choir. The ladies of the Relief Soc iety enjoyed an outing in Salt Lake City on Monday. They went to the tabernacle to hear the noon organ recital and then to Liberty Park where they had lunch. Thl afternoon was spent visiting Welfare Square. The Sharon stake presidency and members of the high council coun-cil met with the Hill Crest ward on Sunday in sacrament meeting to reorganize the bishopric. Leno Martin, first counselor to Bishop Milton Jameson has moved mov-ed Salt Lake City and was released re-leased from the bishopric. President Pres-ident Henry Taylor presented the name of N. Floyd Johnson, to be the first counselor. He has been serving as second counselor. coun-selor. Roy Rowland was sustained sustain-ed as second counselor. The meeting was in the form of a farewell testimonial honoring Mr. Martin and his family. Bishop Bish-op Jameson and Floyd Johnson spoke of their asociations with the Martins and Mr. Martin spoke. He and Theola Tucker sang two duets, accompanied by Bessie Keetch. The newly reorganized reor-ganized choir, under the direction direct-ion of Merl Anderson, made their initial appearance to honor Mr. Martin, who has had the choir as one of his responibilities in the ward. Among those who attended attend-ed the wedding reception honoring honor-ing Mr. and Mrs. Penrod Glacier Glac-ier (Betty Bone), held in Heber last Friday were Mrs. Mary C. A member of the general YMMIA board will be in attendance attend-ance at the church services on Sunday evening to present the good sportsmanship trophy to the Vineyard ward sofball team. A good program has been arranged. arran-ged. The opening social of the Relief Re-lief Society will be held next Tueday at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs- Ella Hebertson. An Interesting Inter-esting program has been planned plan-ned and refreshments will be served. Membership dues will be accepted and all women of the ward are cordially invited. The roof of the new chapel was completed this week and the 60 foot tower was erected. Work is progressing nicely and the chapel will probably be dedicated ded-icated during the latter part of December. A number of improvements on homes and farm have been completed recently. The Antoine Bunker home and the Glen Holdaway home have new paint Jobs. President Walter Holda-way's Holda-way's new barn is nearing com pletion. The Elders quorum and their partners enjoyed a social at the home of Wayne Beaman on Monday evening following the priesthood meeting. Floyd Clegg, recently returned missionary, was honored at the social. Leonard Leon-ard Madsen was in charge of the games and refreshments were served to 26. Among those to register at the BYU this quarter were Kay Davis, Luauna and Floyd Clegg, Leon and Joan Hebertson, Ken- neh Williams, Beth and Boyd Harding and Udell Clegg.
