Niel Newell, scoutmaster, was In charge of the program and Introduced the scout leaders and special guests. Rulon Doman, Scout execu-t ive, presented lapel pins to members of the scout committee incuding Yorin Mangum, Victor Christensen, Ken Wellington and Kay Boulter. Remarks were made by Boyd Davis. The Junior Scouts conducted their Investure ceremony under the direction of Scoutmaster Robert Smith and Henry Kin. ser and Allen Dickey, committee commit-tee members. Boys participating were Dan Allen, David Kinser, Jay Shelton, Wayne Vernon, Lynn Loveridge, Gene Parson, David Jensen, Lawrence Vernon, Ver-non, Gene Mangum, Garth Un-german, Un-german, Lewis Simpson, Claude Rowley, Everett Watts, Allen Dickey, Dale Larsen, Ray Niel, Dennis Collings, Dale Perkins, Jim Keetch and Farrell luck- man. In charge of decorations for the banquet were Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Blair and Mrs. Sheldon Warwood. Stud ents from every region in the state participated in the meet Two other Lincoln students, Judith Lundeen and Patricia Smith, also qualified in the regional meet held recently and were chosen to represent the region at the state festival. They participated in the retold story division and each received honorable mention. The students were under the direction of L. L. Terry and Enid Caldwell of the Lincoln speech department. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Mecham and Mr. and Mrs. Low. ell Christensen visited with their cousin, Lee Christensen in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City on onday evening. Individual In-dividual awards were given to Deacons. Kirk Jameson. Peter Davies, Haynes Thomas, Robert Oiphant, Bruce Bown and Ed Hills. Leno Martin presented the Teachers Standard Quorum award to Laird Billings, super, visor and" individual awards to Max J. Hill, Norman Oliphant, Arthur Woffinden and Dean Rowland. Bishop Milton James-on James-on gave the Priests Standard Quorum award to Elgin Oliphant, Oliph-ant, secretary of the Aaronic Priesthood. Willard Gerber and George Woffinden received in. dividual awards and Mrs. OIL phant received the certificate earned by her son, Roland before be-fore he went into the service-Leno service-Leno Martin received wie certificate cert-ificate for his brother, David, who is also in the service. Davis gave an illustrated talk on his trip down the Colorado river with a group of Boy Scouts. The Gleaner girls and M Men met at the home of their instructor, in-structor, Laird Billings. The speakers of the evening were Darr Harward, Bruce Hall and Melvin Bodily. They told some iaitn-promotmg missionary ex periences. The Relief Society ladies are making big plans for their birthday birth-day party April 26. A special program from the BYU and a buffet luncheon will be features of the celebration.
